Nitro Pro close-before-update 1603 note
For managed Nitro Pro updates, close all running Nitro Pro/Nitro PDF processes before launching the MSI update. If Nitro Pro is open, the MSI update can fail with 1603 instead of completing cleanly.
This matters for required deployments because the failure is tied to the application being in use, not just a generic installer retry condition. Use a pre-close/conflicting-process step or user notification window before enforcing Nitro Pro 14, Enterprise 14, or NLS 14 MSI updates.

For managed Nitro PDF Pro / Nitro Pro 14 deployments, stage the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 Redistributable x64 runtime before running the MSI. Keep the runtime as a prerequisite so PDF workstations can install or update Nitro without failing on missing VC++ components.
