Notepad++

For managed Notepad++ deployments, use the official EXE installer with the case-sensitive silent switch /S. If you need to redirect the install directory, put /D= last and do not wrap it in quotes; for example: npp.8.x.x.Installer.x64.exe /S /D=C:\\Program Files\\Notepad++.

Before updating Notepad++, close running Notepad++ processes. If Notepad++ is left open, managed updates can report 0x87D00705 or update the Add/Remove Programs entry while leaving binaries stale. Use a pre-close prompt or conflicting-process rule, then verify the installed file version after the maintenance window.
