pingid close-before-update note
For managed pingid updates, close the running application before launching the installer. Update will fail to install Configure a pre-close/user-deferral or conflicting-process rule for pingid rather than repeatedly retrying the update while the app is open.

PingID updates can fail to install if PingID is running. Close PingID before managed upgrades so the installer can complete without the running authentication client blocking replacement. Source: official pingid source.
For managed PingID User-x64 updates, close PingID before starting setup. If PingID is running, the update can fail to install; close the desktop authenticator first and re-run detection before retrying.
