ReSharper close-before-update note
Run the JetBrains dotUltimate offline installer (for example, JetBrains.dotUltimate.*.exe) in Administrative mode from the GUI to generate a custom silent command line with selected products, Visual Studio versions, and options such as /PerMachine=True for all-users installation into Program Files. Copy that generated command for scalable deployment scripts.
Before deploying current ReSharper packages, target machines need a supported Visual Studio installation: Visual Studio 2017, 2019, 2022, or 2026. Include Visual Studio presence/version in deployment targeting or requirement rules before running the JetBrains offline-installer command line.
If the all-users option is unavailable or the silent deployment behaves inconsistently, check for prior per-user JetBrains installs and logs under %LOCALAPPDATA%\JetBrains\Shared\vAnyInstaller; remove conflicting per-user remnants before retrying the machine-wide install.

For managed ReSharper updates, close ReSharper before starting the Windows installer. The PMPC-documented update path can return Exit Code 1618 when the application is open, so use a pre-close or user-deferral step and rerun detection after setup.
