Configuration tip

SourceGit’s official documentation indicates that it is distributed primarily as a release download (with no documented MSI, transforms, or installer command-line switches) and that it stores user data under %APPDATA%SourceGit on Windows, or in a data folder placed beside the executable for portable mode. For enterprise deployment, the safest automation pattern is to deploy the release binaries to a fixed path, pre-create the data folder if you want portable state, and rely on standard Git already being installed and visible in PATH before first launch.
