Tailscale Windows MSI deployment note

For unattended Windows deployment, Tailscale publishes an MSI workflow for managed installs. Use the official MSI package with standard Windows Installer syntax such as msiexec /i tailscale-setup-<version>-amd64.msi /quiet, and follow Tailscale’s documented MSI properties when you need unattended mode or preconfigured login behavior.

Use Tailscale’s official Windows MSI installation documentation as the deployment source: https://tailscale.com/kb/1189/install-windows-msi.

For managed Tailscale Windows updates, close the Tailscale client UI before setup starts. If the app is open, the update can return Exit Code 1; close the client first, then confirm the service/client version after installation.
