WinSCP close-before-update note
Deploy WinSCP silently for all users using the installer switches appropriate for your package, for example WinSCP-Setup.exe /VERYSILENT /NORESTART for unattended EXE installs.
For managed updates, close WinSCP before launching the installer. If WinSCP is open during an update, deployments can return Exit Code 5 or 0x80070005, so use a WinSCP-specific pre-close/conflicting-process step before retrying.

For managed WinSCP user-context updates, close WinSCP before launching setup. If WinSCP remains open, the update can fail with Exit Code 5 or 0x80070005; close active sessions first and verify the installed version afterward.
