What is my name?
Poor Deegan has no idea what his name is: Bug, Loves, Nugget, Deeganater, Handsome ... but usually never Deegan. But the good news is that he does know Mama and can say it! YIPPEE! Sorry daddy, but you should have talked about yourself in 3rd person for months.

6 Months!
6 MONTHS ... HALF A YEAR ... IS HE STILL A BABY?!!! Well even when he is 40 he will still be our baby but we cannot get over the fact it has been half a year. This little bug is the light of our life and definitely #1 to us both. I jokingly tell Eric that I would take a bullet for him but if I had to chose between him or Deegan ... sorry but I wasn't picking him :) Luckily he said ditto!
New Toy
Blowing Raspberries!
As you have seen in previous videos, we have started to feed Deegan big boy food. We have moved onto solids and he is not the typical baby. The kid HATES (I mean gets the shivers) Applesauce, Prunes, Pears, etc but totally loves green beans and sweet peas. How Bizarre!!! Here is a picture of our pea face ... YUM!Tuesday, November 10, 2009
SOOOO BIG!
It is hard to believe how quickly Deegan is growing! Just a couple weeks ago, he had trouble balancing to sit up on his own, last week, he could sit for about 10 seconds, then lose his balance, Today he sat up until he got bored and then dove for a toy!
Such a big boy, posing and smiling for Mommy!
We decided to give up the Bumbo and be a REAL big boy in our high chair. He is a MUCH cleaner eater using the high chair, good idea Momma!
Love that flavored rice cereal, so much so that he can easily down 4 tablespoons like nothing!Sunday, November 8, 2009
Happy HALLOWEEN
For Deegan's first Halloween we went to Grandma Donna's for a Halloween Party. Of couse we had to dress Bug up as a Bug and Eric and I were "Bug Patrol." We had tool belts that had diapers, pacifiers, chew toys, wipes, etc ... All things needed to take care of a Bug problem :)
We have been working on sitting up by ourselves and he does a great job ... He does have face plants here and there but he never cries.
Though CSU is having a rough season, we are still proud to wear our green and gold! Proud to be a CSU RAM!Love the flavored rice cereal... and spoons!

The Deeganator!
Lately at Daycare (Bugs spends most of his day surrounded by little girls at daycare) the girls have been calling him the "Deeganator". We thought it was just a funny and cute little nickname, but what we have now determined is that the "Deeganator" will more than likely be his B-Boy Breakdancing alter-ego! ENJOY!
The Bug Bug Bug, The Bug is the Word!
This video is of Deegan after his 4 month check-up. Our pediatrician recommended he start eating 'Rice Cereal'. So we went and bought single grain rice cereal and mixed it with breast milk and, well, have a look for yourself...
Ok, So as you can see by the outcome of the video above, we needed a different course of action. Deegan got H1N1 Flu shortly after that video, so we stopped the plain rice cereal routine while he was sick. We knew that we had to work on getting him to learn to eat 'big boy food' so I figured we will spend a few extra $'s and try 'flavored rice cereal'... Low and behold, the next video...
A little advice to those that are going to or recently had a child, start with the flavored stuff... It will make life MUCH easier!!!

Love Drunk
It's official, for 5 months now Eric and I have been love drunk and have not yet had a hangover. It is amazing to see how much our little love bug has grown. He is definitely no long a "lump on the log"! He is talking (Deegan talk that is), rolling, smiling, laughing, reaching, grabbing and stuffing everything he can into is mouth (a lot like mommy these days)! He is also starting to look a lot like his handsome daddy ... better then looking like his mommy (we are manly - not girly). We are also finally starting to get a routine which is good and bad. Deegan has never been happier and we seem to know what he wants and when based on the clock. The only problem is that the clock is like a ball and chain. Between nap times, feedings and an early bed time, there is not a lot of time to do anything! Oh the sacrifices we make ... TOTALLY worth it :)
We had tried rice cereal some time ago and it did not go well at all! Deegan would cry, spit it out and get royally mad at us. So, being the softy's that we are, we gave up ... until yesterday. Round 2 went well the first 2 bites and then didn't go at all. When we tried feeding him the cereal a few weeks ago we were convinced it was the spoon he hated: well now we are convinced he likes the spoon, hates the cereal. After 2 bites, he sealed his lips shut and would not let anything pass (smart kid).
But that spoon was pretty tasty ... until we gagged ourselves!
Grandma Gail got Deegan a new hat and a new toy to roll around in. He is so stinking cute!!!
Russell Stover's next sales man
On Friday night we went to a wedding (Tara's sisters) and had a fun time. They had a cupcake cake and Eric asked 20 times when he could have one. I was about to shove one in his face if he asked again! Once they did start passing them out he ended up eating 3! Of course Tara is still tanner then me ... someday I will be tan again!
Eric and I at the wedding ... without Deegan!
On Saturday we went to a Birthday/Halloween party and got to dress Bug up as a .... BUG! We were pretty excited to be able to dress him up 2 times since he isn't going to make it up late on Halloween. Of course we had to cut the feet out of the costume because of his huge feet but it worked. I like to say he is a love bug for Halloween (manly or not)! Sunday, October 18, 2009
Giggles!
Most of you know that Deegan had H1N1 Swine Flu last week. Having a sick child is terrible, fortunately for us we took him to the Doctor within 8 hours of him showing symptoms, and our Pediatrician had the 'quick' test to confirm it. The GOOD NEWS here is that he is absolutely back to his normal self. He is happy, smiling, playing, etc. He has been without a fever for over a week and his runny nose stopped about 6 days ago too.
Thank you ALL so much for the thoughts and prayers while he was sick, they truly helped him and us get over this.
