Halloween Night

We love Halloween at our house and Polo can hardly wait for it to come around every year. He was a skeleton at Grandma and Grandpa's party and then informed me "I don't wanna be the SAME skeleton" for the ward party. So i painted his face and he put on his coat that resembles a firefighter's jacket and he was a "fireman skeleton". Well then for Halloween he absolutely had to be something else and his Aunt Mara sent him to the store with $15 to find something cool. It was between a ninja turtle and a vampire and well- you can plainly see who won.

I chose to be a witch with the hat Mom bought for me- thanks Mom! Wesley wasn't too excited about the extra makeup I had on- it wasn't even scary. I swear! But in the end he knew where the good stuff was! We love Halloween so much that we decided to make a haunted gingerbread- ok cardboard- candy house. Some of it was edible and some of it wasn't. We had lots of fun decorating and coming up with ideas for it. It was kind of our pride and joy of the season. We set it at the bottom of the stairs so we could run into it every time we came home. We have loved it and can hardly let it go. I doubt the Christmas candy house will be nearly as good- we just love Halloween!

LDS Conference Portraits

So this year we had a little packet for Polo to fill out but he kind of loses focuses quickly- well compared to a 2 hour session so we asked him to draw a picture of each of the speakers. Here's what he came up with- I think they're brilliant!
Image
President Monson was talking about his wife so Polo decided to draw his wife and him hanging out together. I thought it was very sweet (even though it was really him losing his patience because the prophet was the very last speaker- but hey- he was listening!)

Kids are so honest in everything they do- I love it!

Gardiner Village and the Witch Festival

We headed down to SLC for the Witch Festival to hunt down witches doing all sorts of crazy things. We saw one riding a bike in the sky, and another hiding a cat and mouse under her skirt. We looked everywhere for those silly witches had fun while doing it. ImageImageImageImageImageImage
There was this petting zoo where the kids could stick straw through the fences and feed the animals- a little silly but it took the better part of 40 minutes :)
ImageImageImageImage
We walked in to lots of cute shops and saw cute clothes and fun decorations and enjoyed every minute of it. Well Polo may have had his ups and downs :) Ah!
ImageImageImageAnd there was this awesome little stage where the kids could dance while festive Halloween music played. Polo is definitely a much better dancer than me :) Thanks Aunt Lene for planning such a fun hangout!

Halloween Party

ImageImageImage
Grandma worked hard to throw a wonderful Halloween party this year and she and Grandpa put on a quite the show. My boys and I went up and spent the night because we just couldn't contain our excitement. Polo created his very own costume picking out every single piece of it. Cousin Elauna helped to paint his face and we had a ball! There was awesome Halloween music, beautiful pumpkin and skeleton displays, pin the smile on the skeleton, mummy wrap with toilet paper, pumpkin-faced pizza, dry ice and punch, charades, musical pumpkins, dance freeze for scariest pose and more treats than I could even taste! It was all so wonderful and Polo told me whilst pulling up his pants, "This was such a fun Halloween party!" Love him! Thank you Mom and Dad for such a great party!

The Leaves

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
This is my favorite part of autumn- I love the leaves! Luckily Mom and Dad live in Midway where the leaves fall like... well like leaves in the Fall! They're beautiful and they completely cover the yards of the whole neighborhood. Polo loved piling them up high and jumping in them while Wesley loved to crunch them between his fingers and occasionally eat them. Me? Well I just liked making Leaf Angels! I love the feeling autumn brings and the sound the leaves make when we jump in them, or wade through rivers of them. There really is nothing like it. We love leaves!

What My Autumn has Brought Me

I just wanted to share a little bit of what this great season in my life has brought to me recently. Namely: Joy, smiles, fun, patience, understanding, humility and lots of fun. Here's some pics of my sweet family.
Image
This was our Avengers Reunion we had a few weeks ago. Polo looked forward to it for months and insisted that he not only be Batman (we have nearly every other superhero costume already in our home- just not that one!) but that he be the BLUE Batman! Thank you Amazon.com for carrying such things at such great prices and helping me make a priceless little hero! Oh and there's Superman in his Clark Kent disguise! I was planning to be She-Hulk but never really made it around to a good costume so- there.
Image
We blessed Wesley the Sunday after the reunion and it was awesome to have so many from both of our families come and support us in this.
Image
Thanks to Lene we didn't have to buy a blessing outfit- or so we thought. Wesley is growing at an amazing rate up there in the 95th percentile! Needless to say, he was busting out of his cute little tux and pants and they came off right after the blessing. (at least he didn't have a blow-out in them) So we have no pictures of him in the actual suit- but these are the pictures of the feeling we all felt that day! See how happy we all are?!
Image
Here's my superman again- thanks Pinterest!
Image
Who knew a mohawk could grow so perfectly? He'll never have to do his hair- ever! All I ever do is dry it with a towel and then it spikes up like this! Uncle D has lovingly nicknamed him Spike.
Image
And sometimes Spike gets so tired that he just can't take it anymore. He has learned to roll over and then tries to move but inevitably inches backwards- which really makes him mad- and tired apparently!
Image
And this is my ninja. He is reading and writing stuff getting smarter every day. He often talks to me about how he's going to have a wife someday and have some kids so we've been discussing what kinds of things he will need to do for his "beautiful wife". He's going to be really good at it when he finally gets there! Good thing I have a few years left with his sweet little ninja face!
