Merry Christmas Everyone

Well, its Brent again. I am going to give this another shot because I want to post our Christmas pictures but Stephanie has to work today. So since I have the day off, I figured I would give it a go.

So before I get to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I need to talk about what happened Monday night. The Bears beat the Packers to keep their playoff hopes alive. They blocked a fieldgoal to send it into overtime and eventually win. Well, as great as that was, finding out that Mary is a Bears fan was even better. Naturally when the Bears scored to tie the game and when they blocked the fieldgoal to send it to overtime, I went crazy jumping, screaming, and clapping. Mary started cheering with me and clapping at the TV. It was great. She is already a true Bears fan. Unfortunately we didn't get a good video of it but trust me it happened.

So anyways, I just had to mention that but now onto Christmas Eve. I had to work most of the day but we got to go over to Uncle Richard's house for dinner that night. Prime Rib and Turkey! It was great. We also got a special visit from Santa. He came and had all the kids, and adults, sit on his lap as he handed out presents for everyone.

Here is Santa himself.

Image
Mary was a little scared at first.

ImageImageImage
And like I said, even the adults had to sit on his lap.

ImageImage
As you can tell Mary certainly enjoyed the candy cane that was taped on her present. She also loves pushing that little car all over the living room.

ImageImage

This picture is of Aunt Julie reading a Christmas book that Nate and Amber bought for her to read to everyone on Christmas Eve. What you can't see is when Julie reads about Joseph and MARY, our little Mary clapped and laughed. She just loved hearing her name.

Image
So now onto Christmas Day. Here are the presents Santa left for Mary.

ImageImage
Mary really enjoyed ripping the wrapping paper off of her presents.

ImageImage
Here are a few pics of Mary enjoying her presents.

ImageImageImageImageImage
This is a video of Mary dancing to the noises the Muno Guitar makes.

Here is a picture I took today with all of Mary's presents. I hope I didn't forget any.

Image
So, on Christmas afternoon we went over to Chris and Valerie's for a Christmas Dinner. Thanks again guys for having us over. Everything was great. But while we were there Mary saw cousin Brenden playing a harmonica. So she wanted to do it to. The only thing is, she didn't know how to. So she put it in her mouth and made the noises herself. Here is the video.

So I think thats it for now. And again I'm sure Steph will be on later and correct any mistakes I probably made.

Santa Baby

Usually Mary HATES wearing hats. I mean she despises it...crying and rushing to pull it off her head.

But then she discovered our Santa hat and well..fell in love. Now she runs around trying to put it on:

Image

Eventually either mommy or daddy have to put it on because she gets rather...cranky...if we don't. Then she continues giggling and running around.

Mary Did You Know...

Imageno, i will not finish that with "that your baby boy..."
that christmas song is officially RUINED for me. thanks a lot tyler and glen.
christmas is almost here and we were a little late in getting out our decorations. i have to admit that a big part of it was fear as to how badly mary and tiggy could destroy everything. but how could we deny our little mini the opportunity to wreak havoc?
ImageImageImage
Image
Imagelook at her, not a care in the world that she is playing with things she should not. if it were brent, he would've just said "aw mary, it's ok, go ahead." and left her at that...but mean mommy stopped her and this is what happened.
Image
we are definitely in the holiday spirit. and i am definitely rocking the christmas santa hat from my old pep band days (shh don't tell anyone i kept it).
Imagewe even made gingerbread houses with tyler and jessica. i forgot my camera (go figure) and jessica hasn't emailed me the pics (bad jessica), so alas, you don't get to see my mastery at that craft. but if you go check out their blog you can see them. guess which one is ours.
and you better believe there will be pics of mary ripping her way through presents on christmas day!

Brent is going to try and post

So as most of you know, Stephanie has been out of commission for quite some time due to her hand surgery. She actually is getting better and will even be returning to work this week, but nevertheless it has been difficult for her to post. So I am going to try it out, wish me luck.

Here is a video of little Mary. She has been walking since Thanksgiving. She just loves to zoom all over the place. This video is from when she first started walking, so she is still a little unsure of herself here. We have been trying to get a better video of her walking but she doesnt like being filmed.

Here are a few pics of Mary being Mary.

As most of you know, Mary's favorite TV show is yo-gabba-gabba. Steph found a hat and mittens of Mary's favorite character, Brobie. Here are a few pics of Mary and her new hat. The mittens are still pretty big for her.

Mary doesnt like wearing hats for too long, hence the smile then the cries..

Here is Mary and Mommy. Mary is sporting her new coat from Grandma Koz.

Although Mary does love yo-gabba-gabba, she loves watching Barney and more specifically dancing to Barney. Here are a few videos of Mary dancing her heart out to Barney.

Well thats it for now. Steph will be back posting again soon and probably correcting any mistakes I might have made.

you can yell at me, i deserve it

Didn't Brent do a good job? Let's give him a round of applause!!! Though I do have to make one correction...It's BROBEE not BROBIE. Gah! You'd think the fact that he's Mary's favorite character EVER (mine too) would be enough to remember the spelling. Tsk, tsk honey. Just kidding.

Moving on.
At this point, i don't have much of an excuse for not posting...the hand is basically 100% now. Let me show you what it looked like, 2 weeks after the surgery, after the bandage came off. Keep in mind that I took the picture with my phone, so the quality isn't so fabulous. Though it was enough to make Brent queasy. Unfortunately you don't get a good idea of all the green and red bruises surrounding everything. Image
Here's what it looks like now, roughly (because I took this a week ago or so).
Image And alas, I go back to work tomorrow...I mean...yay! For all those of you at work who read this, the only part of coming back to work I am looking forward to is you!

So, here are a few things Brent didn't include (he forgot to check the camera for pics/vids that hadn't been uploaded yet)

Mary has discovered my iPod. She knows how to turn it on and knows to put the earbuds in her ear to listen. It all started one Sunday night when I wasn't feeling particularly well. I was listening to music (probably to block out football and Brent yelling at the refs and players) and trying to "nap." But Mary decided that she was not all about that, as she kept walking over to me and hitting me so I'd pick her up. And to help calm her crazies down, I put up a bud to her ear. So I guess it's all really my fault. Observe!

And yes, Mary has come very far in her walking progress from the video that Brent posted last time. For some reason she really enjoys screaming whenever she walks. Maybe the whole novelty of it hasn't worn off yet.

So we got an interesting package in the mail the other day. I opened it to discover the cutest sweater ever! And it has quite the story behind it. Back when Gpa Koz was playing for the Bears, Virginia Halas, daughter of George Halas aka Papa Bear and who now owns the team, made this sweater for the Koz kids. So Gpas Koz sent it to us for Mary to enjoy. It is adorable on her...only the hood is slightly small on her head. Don't any of you make a crack at her larger than average cranium!

And yes I realize her face is dirty. She was eating lunch and I just wanted to get her in that sweater as fast as I could before she got too tired and cranky from need of a nap.Image

ImageThese next vids are especially for Ian and Erin to enjoy (not that the rest of you can't enjoy them too...). Mary has discovered how to be gentle with Tiggy...for the most part. She will start petting him nicely then gets over excited and hits him and he subsequently runs away. Here in this vid she gets distracted by the camera, like usual. And she has also discovered how to play with him.

I hope this made up for everything! I will be sooooo much better about posting, I promise.

And I'm sure there will be more to come as we near Christmas. Oh man, can you imagine Mary and our Christmas tree? Her and Tiggy will be a destructive dynamic duo for sure.

fun with the kozs

while they were here, we did lots of fun things, including hitting up mervyn's going out of business sale. mary got cute clothes and shoes!

we also got to attend the last byu football home game against san diego state. we won (hooray) and had fun trying to take pics of tyler (if only i had a digital slr like valerie...i keep telling brent it would increase the quality of pics)Imagein case you are wondering, tyler is #7Image
oh and where the 7 isnot readily visible, i forget where tyler is in the shot. i was a tad out of it.Image
ImageImage

ImageImagei'm pretty sure i remember taking a picture like this at one of the blue and white games a couple yrs back, with tyler signing autographs for the kiddies. i guess some things never change, eh tyler? lol just kidding

mary discovered she really likes to headbutt people, especially those she is fond of. i think she is trying to imitate tiggy's bumpsImageImage

and of course what visit with the fam is complete without a game of hearts, or a game of dice, or a game of taboo, or a..game at all? Gpa koz is teaching mary how to shoot the moon. good poker face mar-mar!Image

it was so much fun visiting with the koz fam. thanks for EVERYTHING!

and now if you'll excuse me, my hand needs to fall off after all that updating! haha
