December

So behind.  Sorry!  Life as been crazy as usual.  Finally have a min to post about our December.  Some really bad days but mostly the best days ever!!!  Memories we will never forget.

Memphis surprised me with his sweetness.  He struggles with social and behavioral skills but he has always been my tender hearted boy that loves his momma!  I have some have had some major health problems that had been flaring up for a few weeks and I would curl up on the couch when I got home from work because I was in so much pain.  Memphis asked me what I needed done around the house and he just did it!  Another day I went to pick up Kayzee from a friend's house and he texted me a picture of all the dishes he washed because he loves me.  I can't even begin to express how grateful I am to have this sweet boy in my life.

And the amazing Memphis strikes again!  One night the pain was really bad.  He made me go to bed early and he tucked me in.  The next morning he made me breakfast!  Memphis is seriously awesome.  And...I didn't even know he knew how to make fried eggs!

December 12th was a really hard teaching day.  I had to sit down a lot because I was so dizzy.  And that night we had to go to the airport to catch a red eye flight to Florida.  Good thing my bestest friend Allison was so nice to drive us to the airport.  I kept praying I would get some sleep on the flight but of course I didn't.  Boarded at 11pm Utah time.  Arrived at 5am Florida time.  The best was we left freezing snowy Utah and arrived in Florida to 75 degree weather.  And we got to see my parents.  And of course DISNEYWORLD!  Our trip had finally arrived.  So excited!!!!!!!

DisneyWorld Day 1:
Hollywood Studios!  The first half of the day I spent in the Instacare really sick.  Not how I wanted to spend my first day.  So grateful for my parents who were there to take the kids around and on some rides.  I finally caught up to them at lunch and didn't get to go on rides like I wanted because I was so dizzy but I got to see the joy on my kid's faces as they experienced the magic of Disney.  Kayzee's favorite part was the Tower of Terror ride.  She wanted to go on it multiple times.  Memphis' favorite part was building and creating his own interactive droid.  Luckily we were able to get in a 2 hour nap and enjoy a yummy dinner.  So glad the day was over though so I could get some sleep and hopefully get feeling better for the rest of our trip.

DisneyWorld Day 2:
Animal Kingdom!  Felt so much better after getting some sleep.  This park had better rides.  Our favorite ones were Expedition Everest and Avatar Flight of Passage.  My kids kept commenting on how much work went into the scenery and making each section of the park so realistic it felt like we traveled all over the world.  Thanks Disney!

All day we had been watching the Avatar ride to see how long of a wait it was.  It was always 4 hours!  After dinner we checked and it was down to 2 hours.  My parents and Memphis didn't want to wait that long so they went back to the hotel and Me and Kayzee went and waited in the long line.  SO WORTH THE WAIT.  Best ride ever!

DisneyWorld Day 3:
Magic Kingdom!  We got to go on a lot more rides so that was fun.  I keep forgetting it's Christmas because it's so hot here.  Memphis loved splash mountain so much he went on it a couple times.  Kayzee was in heaven when she got to meet her favorite character Stitch and take a picture with him. And I just loved reliving my younger days by going on the same rides I went on when I was younger at Disneyland.  We love DisneyWorld!

DisneyWorld Day 4:
Atlantic Ocean Cocoa Beach!  We were going to go to Universal Studios but we decided to save our money and our feet.  We have been averaging 20,000 steps and 8 miles each day!!!  3 days of that already the beach was the perfect break to rejuvenate us for the 2 days of Disney we have left.  The ocean is my happy place.  I grew up by the Pacific Ocean so it's always been a dream of mine to go to the Atlantic Ocean.  It did not disappoint!  Beautiful weather and my kids played in the waves for hours.  We came back and explored our Port Orleans Riverside Resort where we were staying and went to the French Quarter for Mickey Beignets!  Water slides and swimming to finish off our day.  I can't thank my parents enough for this memorable trip.

Because of where we were staying we found Memphis' name several times.  He wanted a picture with them!

DisneyWorld Day 5:
Epcot!  Another fun day at a Disney park.  Our favorite ride was soarin' we went on it several times.  Tomorrow we wanted to go to Disney Springs then we fly home.  Sad to have our vacation end and leave the warm weather.  Glad we could spend this time with my parents.  DisneyWorld truly is magical!  Memphis had a hard time going on some of the rides.  Especially if they were dark or scary.  Some rides I knew he would have a hard time so he would wait for us but there were some rides that I knew he would love if he just gave them a chance.  I made him go on one and as we got closer to the ride to get on it he started having one of his autistic meltdowns.  He started getting really loud and upset.  I was really really impressed by the Disney employees.  They came running over to us and had this cool looking button that said push.  They told Memphis if he pushed it all the scariness would go away.  He calmed down, pushed the button, went on the ride and loved it.  I guess I am not the only parent that has made their child go on a ride we knew they would love.  Thanks Disney!

They engineered a pumpkin to grown in the shape of Mickey.  So cool!

We made it back to Utah in time for the last day of school and the school wide Christmas Sing.  Kayzee didn't want to miss it ha ha.  So glad it was Christmas Break though so we could rest up from our trip!

Christmas break started off horrible.  We all got the stomach flu.  So not fun.  At least we didn't have to be anywhere.
