8 & 9 Months!

8 Months - January 15, 2016

- About 16 1/2 lbs & 26 1/2 inches

- Fully sits on his own now

- Rolls everywhere & starting to scoot

- Loves to eat!  He eats about 10 ounces of food a day, plus breastfeeds about every 3 hours.

- Usually takes 1 hour nap & a couple of 30 min. cat naps

- Finally sleeps through the night!  Most nights anyways!

- Babbles, smiles & laughs a lot

- Likes to make spit noises & scream

- 1st tooth was on January 1

- Sweet & cuddly, loves to be held & rocked

- Loves music & TV

- Watches everything & everyone

- Drooling a lot & putting everything in his mouth

- Possible pea allergy

9 Months - February 15, 2016

- About 17 lbs & 28 inches

- 10% weight & almost 50% height (he grew a lot)

- Starting to crawl!  Well, he's doing the army man crawl & scooting with both legs.  

- Using both hands

- Waving & claps hands

- Says "dada" & babbles a lot

- Copies sounds & imitates others

- Really nosy & wants to know what everyone is doing

- Has 2 bottom teeth

- Eating some finger foods, like mum mums & puffs

- Eats about 12-16 ounces of baby food a day & still likes to breastfeed about every 3 hours

- Screams a lot & loves to make noises

 - Mr. Personality & a flirt, but can also be sensitive 

- He still loves to be held & rocked, but is getting better at 
playing independently

- He still loves his paci

You are sweet, funny, full of joy & sometimes sensitive!  You are a cuddle bug & love attention!  You are our greatest adventure & we are so blessed to be your parents!  

7 Months!

Ellis Jack at 7 Months:

- About 26 inches & 16 pounds

- Has been eating solid food for a few weeks now.  He didn't like Mommy's homemade purée, but likes Gerber.

- His first food was an avocado in a mesh feeder & he loved it!

- He likes avocado, sweet potato, squash, bananas, apples & now he's eating his rice cereal.

- He doesn't like green beans!  We still have a lot to try.

- He is trying to pick up the baby puffs, but struggling to get them in his mouth.

- He still drinks Mommy's milk about every 3 hours.

- He is sleeping better!  He usually still wakes up & nurses once a night, but had slept through the night a few times!

- He's still particular & likes to be rocked & held a certain way.  He also requires a fan & music while he's sleeping!  

- He loves to scream!  He does this when he's happy & excited & when he's mad or wants something!

- He rolls everywhere & can move himself about 4 feet.  

- He loves playing with his toys, especially the ones that light up & make noise.

- He is enjoying his exersaucer more now & likes the walker.  He even scooted himself  backwards a few feet in it!

- He clapped the first time this month!

- He sat up in the shopping cart for the first time this month!

- He is trying to scoot &  reach for everything.  He'll probably be crawling soon!  We better get ready!

- He is happy & a little flirt most of the time.

- He loves watching & playing with his buddies Beau & Bax.  

- He likes shopping with Mommy & riding in his stroller.

- He is sitting up in his tub now & loves kicking & splashing in the water.

- He can sit up on his own for about 30 seconds, but not completely yet.

We love Daddy!

We're having so much fun this holiday season celebrating Ellis' 1st Christmas!  However, I look forward to also teaching him the true meaning of Christmas, when he understands.  

We love you so much sweet boy!  You have our whole hearts & you bring us such joy!

It's exciting to watch him grow, but I can't believe how big he already is!  Slow down baby boy!

6 Months!

Ellis Jack at 6 months:

- About 25 1/2 inches & 15 pounds

- Only 10th % in height & weight (not worried though, mommy was even smaller)

- Smiles & babbles a lot, a little flirt too

- He reached out for me the first time the other day!

- Rolling over from back to front well, but has a little trouble from front to back

- Doesn't like tummy time

- Can sit up by himself using his hands for support for about 30 seconds

- He went through a bad regression & he woke up almost every 3 hours during the night for about 6 weeks, but finally doing better 

- Sleeping in his crib every night, usually one 5-7 hour stretch   & then about a 3-4 hour stretch

- Wearing 3-6 & 6 mos clothing

- Still breast feeding, we tried rice cereal, but he didn't care for it

- Going to start trying vegetables next week, I'm going to attempt making it myself, we'll see how it goes

- He is so sweet & cuddly, but still can be a little particular about things

- Loves being outside

- Likes playing with his toys & being entertained by his friends Beau & Bax

- Grabs for things, chews on everything & drools a lot (might be teething)

- Loves bright lights & will turn his head & stare at the tv, phone, or iPad 

- Loves music & being sung to

Ellis, you're such a blessing & we love you so much!  You're the sweetest & cutest thing and you fill our lives with so much joy!
