They are Believer's Now

Many moons ago when Brett and I were dating, we were short on cash but still wanted to go out on the town.  My darling boyfriend pulled out all the stops so that we could.  He took his parents dryer apart and collected all of the change that had fallen through.  We have told the story to our kids numerous times but until last week I don't think they really believed us.

I had the boys move my dryer out so we could clean behind it. At first Brett just put his had through and was pulling out a little bit of change.  The kids were like  . . . ya big deal!

Then Brett tipped it up on it's side to get the change moving.  It sounded like we were in Wendover (the old Wendover when change actually came out of the machine and not just a ticket) It sounded like we hit the jackpot!!

Now the kids were impressed!!

We found some buttons, screws, Drill bits, safety pins, some coins and lots and lots of lint!

We found just under 21.00 and after that the kids thought we should split our findings with them . . . Wrong!  They should never doubt us!  Actually we are taking the family and our findings and spending all in one place  . . . At Nielsen's frozen custard YUM!

The Joys of Teenagers

Cole is working at Lagoon and staying at his grandparents house in davis county which when the season is in full bloom will be nice on his gas tank.

He had to work yesterday and didn't get off until the park closed.  Brett had called to check on him and he said he was on his way home.  We told him to give us a call and let us know he had arrived at grandma's.    a half and hour later I had yet to hear from him . . . I was worried since it isn't a very long drive so I give him a call . . . .

The mom - Hey have you made it?
The Teenager - uh - yeah . . .
The mom - whats the matter?
The teenager - Mom - I locked my keys in my car
The mom - oh (trying to think how he would have done this)
The Teenager - uh mom . . .
The mom - yeah?
The Teenager - my car is running . . . .
The Mom - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Needless to say at 11:30 p.m. Brett and I got to go for a drive.  We all do stupid things and when we arrived he was feeling pretty low. It took us all of about 2 seconds to unlock the car and pull it in the garage.

I had to get a picture of him pulling in just so he could remember the time he locked himself out of his car with it running :)

He sent us a text on our way up there " This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever done"  We didn't reply!

Our Final Junior High Function :)

Madison Had her final Dance Concert at the Junior High which is always bitter sweet!  I can't believe we are almost done with Junior High :)

Madison was really excited for this concert, she has wanted to do the family dance with her dad and this was the year.  Unfortunately her dad has been out of town so much lately he was not going to be able to attend the practices.  Fortunately she has an amazing brother who was willing to go to every practice and then help teach their dad.  There was plenty of laughter during our home practices!

Here is Brett's debut  . . . He makes a mistake for which Cole tells him that the next night they perform it he (Brett) has lost his privilege of performing and Cole will be the next time.  Fortunately for Madison she was able to perform with the 2 most important men in her life!  She loved performing with both her dad and her brother.  What a great opportunity this was for her!
Madison decided to do a Tap Solo . . . My Dad was a tap dancer and he and Madison had a Connection through dance.  She decided to dedicate this number to him.
Her program note read:  Thanks to my awesome grandpa for my tapping toes!  I hope I make you proud!  I Love you Grandpa!

We are so proud of her she did a great job and I know my dad is proud of her too!!

Now it's Cole turn to perform . . .

After the dance they walked off stage, cole told Maddy thanks for the opportunity to dance with her and kissed her on the check . . . WOW what a sweet brother!

Congrats are in order

Image
I just wanted to wish my nephew and his new bride to be Congratulations!

Last week Nick popped the question and Robin said YES!!  We are super excited to welcome Robin into our family!  I love to watch the little ones in my family grow up!

2011 already has new and exciting adventures ahead of us: new baby, a wedding, a new adventure for one of my nieces as she heads off to another state, Maddy being able to get her learner's permit (scary).
