Days 20 until now
So, I thought I was posting everyday. I guess I never hit publish! Ahhhh.
Oh well.
I'm crazy thankful this year. This week, more than anything, I'm so thankful that I finally went to a doctor that is going to help me not feel like crapola. Whooo hoooo. I found someone who totally got what I was saying and is going to help me at least start to not feel so dang tired. She could be a napro doctor… but she's not.
I'm totally thankful I found her. And for my friends that encouraged me to go. Thanks.

17 18, 19
17 - I'm thankful that while I took a much needed nap, by husband rearranged the garage so BOTH cars now fit. Whoot! That makes me very happy as the temperatures keep dropping.
18 - Pretty thankful that we were safe after a stream of tornados went through our state. We were missed, but other local areas were hit hard. So glad we were fine. Praying for those that weren't.
19 - It's Tuesday, which means it's no longer Monday. That's something to be thankful for.

Yesterday - TGIF. Seriosuly it was such a long week. Or it felt that way.
Today - very thankful we found a seemingly toddler proof garbage can. We shall see if the little man can out smart this can.

My van is back!
Day 14… I'm thankful I have my van back. It no longer has a hole in the bumper from the minor fender bender. It's all fixed. I missed my butt warmers. Those things are the best! And the sliding doors. I love sliding doors. :)

Day 13
Does anyone really read these posts??
Anyway, today I'm thankful for the automatic starter on my rental car. And the fact that I have a rental car - a nice little SUV - while my van gets fixed from a little fender bender. Long story. Anyway… the cold has come and the automatic starter is great!
These are really deep posts. :)

Day 12
Today felt like Monday. I was draaaaaaging. I needed some caffeine or something. I only drink an occasional coffee with flavoring. I'm more of a chai tea gal myself. Yummmm. Well, today I'm thankful that my hubby made me some coffee and we had some pumpkin spice creamer. HIT THE SPOT.

Days 7, 8, 9
I missed a few days. It's been one of those weeks. I'm thankful that it's the weekend.
I'm thankful for my husband… as the 7th was our 4th Anniversary. See wedding pics here!
On the 7th… I was in a minor fender bender. Made me a frazzled mess more than anything. I'm thankful it wasn't anything worse and that George was NOT in the car!
For the 8th… I'm thankful the steroid shot that I got in my back this week went well. It's my second shot and it hurt this time… didn't so much the first time. I'm hopeful this shot will help my pinched nerve and leg pain.
And for today… I'm thankful that when I woke up at 3am, I got up and switched the laundry because now all my weekend laundry is DONE!!!!!! Whoot!!!!!!!!

Day 5: naps
I took a nap today. Granted, it was while I was taking an online training course, but still... It was a nap. Tomorrow I'll be thankful for being able to retake said online training. :)

Day 4: Beth
Today is my birthday. I'm 36!
Today I'm thankful for Beth. She was one of my bridesmaids. She is one of the best friends a girl could have.
And today, she made me laugh. All. Day. Long.
Love ya!
And if you want to see what she did TO… I mean FOR me last year… click here!

Day 3: Free Breakfast
Doug and I love breakfast. It's our favorite meal and we like to go out for breakfast after mass every once in a while. But it's pricey. So we don't do it often.
A few weeks ago we went out. A complete stranger paid for our meal. We didn't even know if until after he was gone. It made our day! How generous.
So that leads us to today. I received a free breakfast coupon for a place we like to go. Man I love coupons and free breakfast. George and I shared some pancakes and eggs. Yummmmmm.

Day 2: Fr. Dominic
My family is so blessed to have several friends who are now priests. I love it! It's been amazing to watch friends discern, go to seminary and be ordained. AMAZING.
One of those friends is Fr. Dominic. We go way back. We met at a Frassti Society conference. Long ago all the girls chased Dominic. I laughed it off because I never saw him like that. We hung all the time... He has seen me at my worst and best. I always knew he would be one of those life long friends.
He's really the best. He was still in seminary when Doug and I were getting married. He was going to serve and be a reader in the wedding. He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma shortly before the wedding. He had his first chemo treatment a day before our wedding. He insisted in being there and being in the wedding. Yep, that's the kind of friend he is.
And he is one holy priest.
We had coffee with him and Beth & Co. today. It was great seeing him. He even blessed our mini vans!

Blessed Day 1 - Halloween and Saints
Today we were blessed with some pretty fantastic weather and a wonderful Trick or Treat Day. I mean it was still cold and a little rainy… but it wasn't like yesterday… which consisted of rain and more rain and lightning and tornados all day. The city even postponed Halloween trick or treating until today! So we celebrated All Saints and Halloween today!
Daisy the Angel… Not so much.
Best buds… My penguin and angel.
He LOVED Trick or Treating!
We went to three houses and he wanted to keep going!
Look… I'm festive! Got me a 50% off angel halo and wings! $3 - score!
Pays to have Halloween a day late!
So… my attempt at dressing him like his patron saint… Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati.
I'll get a pipe next year! This was before 6:30AM mass!

Sick.
Doug is sick. Cold. Cough.
George is sick. On steroids. Lots of breathing treatments.
I can hardly move... I hurt my back. Steroids for me too.
Prayers please. We need em.
Oh.... My baby is ONE this weekend! We must get better!

10 meals in 1 hour!!!
I'm not the best cook. I feel like I just do not have enough time these days. I plan the weekly dinner meals during the weekend. If I do not do it then... then we are grabbing whatever to eat during the week. I hate that. It happens way too often.
I need instructions and pictures. And someone to buy all the ingredients. And be there to really just cook for me.
So when I was invited to attend a Wild Tree dinner workshop, I jumped at the chance... and brought along my great friend Sarah and her in-utero twins. It was so much fun!
Basically, you are able to make 10 meals (20 if you want to divide in 1/2) in one hour! I signed up for a "Not Your Mama's Crock Pot" workshop. Yummy!!
That is my ideal situation! I received a grocery list a head of time... lots and lots of meat and chicken. Wowzers. I called the local butcher to place an order and I had NEVER bought that much protein in one day! Sidenote: I felt crazy adult ordering food from a butcher. Hahaha. I don't know why, but it did! I also had to buy some veggies and some canned goods. And that's it!!!
To prep, Doug chopped and chopped veggies and I labeled bags and put in some ingredients. Packed it in a cooler and off I went.
First... when I arrived at the workshop... I thought I was on a pinterest page. The house was flippin' AMAZING! Huge old house with a carriage house (where the hostesses parents live) and then an awesome barn that serves as the family hang out. OMG. AMAZING! I mean, there was a slide that kids could use that went from the upstairs in the barn to the main level! Crazy. To heck with the food... the house alone was something to see!
Anyway... the workshop was great. We all received a whole bunch of yumming spices and then we took each back and added what we needed to complete each recipe. Easy! Everything will be frozen and then cooked in a crock pot! Done!
Drove home and popped all the meals in my freezer. I can't wait to start cooking! Hehe.
