Fall 2008

Well I feel like a huge slacker. I thought I would be able to keep up with this whole blog thing but I haven’t. Now my mother has a blog and I am ashamed to say she is doing a much better job blogging then I am. Which I find kind of funny seeing how I had to teach her how to use her email account. But she did the blog thing all by herself. I’m so proud. A lot has happened since I last blogged. I’m just going to share some of the highlights of the last school year. This year I was in charge of the SUU Homecoming parade. My parents were able to come down and watch it. Then they took me down to St. George to see Les Miserables. Our friends the Magelby’s came too along with their daughter Megan who happens to be my roommate. It was the first time I had ever seen the show. I loved it. Our Javert was phenomenal. The next big this was my sister getting married!!! YAY!! Jill married Logan Gold. They are very cute together. I’m very happy for her. The next biggest thing was the HOWL. It is an activity we put on at SUU for Halloween. We had over a 1000 people come. It is always a well attend activity. Then in November I spent Thanksgiving in Mexico doing humanity work with my family. This was our 4th year going. I high encourage everyone to go at least once. Then went back to school took my finals (yes I passed all of my classes) and headed up north for the Holidays. I Spent Christmas with my family. It was wonderful. I spent new years at my house with my friends. I had my first new years kiss! Then I headed back to Cedar City for a rehearsal and then school. As you can see it was a busy but great semester!

New chapter!

Image
Well obviously I’m not good at this blogging thing. It’s been months since I’ve blogged. A lot has happened. I spent the summer living at home and working, nothing too exciting. I’m now back in cedar city. I just started my junior year of college at SUU! Go T-Birds!!! These last two weeks have been crazy. For my job I mentor for the freshmen class. The first week I was here was spent in training, mentoring, and putting on activities for the freshmen. Then this last week I started classes. I’m also on STAB (Student activities board) so, we had our welcome week this week. This has included a lunch time activity and a night time activity each day, so I’ve been busy, which I love. It’s been a lot of fun! So that’s my life. I’ll try and keep this updated!

I called my Sister today and she informed that she had created a blog. After seeing hers and other friends and family members blogs i decided that i need to get one. Here it goes!! I'm not sure I'll be good at this whole blogging thing. In fact I don't really like to write but hopefully this will help that. So please be patient with me.

This semester has finally come to an end. I have one more final and then I'm heading home (YAY!!) It's amazing how much i have changed and grown this school year. I figured i would share with you some of the highlights from this school year:

August:

  • Start my second semester at SUU

October:

  • Mikey Turned 15 ( I called him the other day and he told me hes studying to take the test to get his permit. Is that crazy or what.)

  • Jill came down to see the show and we spent the weekend have lots of fun and sisterly bonding

March:

  • Spring Break!!! I headed home for the first couple of days, then went to USITT
  • USITT (USITT is a technical theater conference. It was over spring break this year and was so much fun! I got to spend a week in Houston Texas and the weather was perfect!)
  • Had lunch with my Dad. My dad and Edson went a NASCAR race in Vegas and on the way down and back home stopped in cedar and had lunch with me! (and took me shopping!)
  • Mardi Gras. I was on the activities committee for Marid Gras.

April:

  • SOAP FEST!! (Student one act plays) 12 one acts were shown this month; 4 each weekend for 3 weeks. My show: The Dumb Waiter was the third weekend. I was the SM (Stage Manager) for The Dumb Waiter. I was also the Crew Chief for that week. Which means i was in charge of all the crew. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun!!
  • My Mom came to visit! She came and show my show (The Dumb Waiter) and stayed for a couple of days. It was a lot of fun.
  • Amber makes STAB (student activities board)
STAB retreat. We went up to SUU's cabin for a weekend with all of the student government for next year for training. It was a blast and i made a lot of friends.
  • Spring Semester ends!

This school year has truly been great. I had really good classes and made a lot of new friends. I stayed super busy. I really can't wait to come back in the fall!
