THE AMICIS

From the Latin, Amicis (friends) is a premium gin brand, created in 2016, from the passion for nature, for the mountains of Portugal and with the purpose of being the perfect company to celebrate friendship.

With a unique flavor, the simplicity of its 14 botanists harvested in the mountains of Sicó and Açor, highlight the Amicis experience.

In 2017, shortly after its launch on the market, wins the Médaille d’Or 2017 Gold Medal in the contest Spirits Selection By Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, a contest that awards drinks from all around the world.

Amicis, which has been part of Grupo BEL, S.A. since 2016, has been one of the favorite gin brands of consumers, consolidating itself in national and international market.

QUALITY AT THE ORIGIN, EXCELLENCE IN THE GIN

The botanists are harvested in “Serra do Açor” and “Serra de Sicó” at certain times of the year in order to obtain the greatest aromatic flavour.

Harvest

The alcohol used in Amicis base are distilled grape must, adding it a spirit of excellence to perfume with the botanists.

Spirit

For 48 hours, the botanists undergo a maceration in the base spirit in separated vats, removing the essential oil and bespeaking the aromatic potential of each botanist.

Maceration

There are made 14 monodestilattions in copper stills, being slowly distilled, at a regulated temperature, in order to obtain the best aromatic potential in each essential oil, getting use of the art of distillation.

Distillation

After the bottling, a 2-week stage is made to connect the spirit with mineral water used in homogenization, opening the aromas and allowing an exceptional aromatic potentiality.

BOTANICALS

Amicis is distilled from 14 botanicals, which gave it a floral and unique flavor. From this 14, we highlight 5 that makes the Amicis a Unique Experience.

CARQUEJA FLOWER

The Carqueja arises spontaneously in nature, particularly at high altitude, like Serra de Açor. Eatable, it’s a flower widely used for cooking.

WALNUT

Widely recognized for its nutrients and numerous health benefits, walnut is an endogenous product of Serra de Sicó.

SANT MARIA HERB

One of the most famous plants in Serra de Sicó, recognized for its influence on the palate of one of the most traditional products of this region, rabaçal cheese. It grows abundantly in the region.

HONEY

The honey from Serra do Açor is different from other types of honey by its low sucrose content, its smell and its crystalline texture. It is, therefore, one of the most traditional products of this region.

CITRUS

The historic orange groves of Coimbra guided the landscape and the life of the city. For years, they have grown naturally and in a disorganized way.

Amicis Coobler Kombucha

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 2 spoons of powdered sugar; 3 cl of pineapple juice; Menthe leaves; 3 cl de kombucha; Crushed ice; Porto Ruby Preparation Mode: In the glass, add Amicis, 2 scoops of powdered sugar, 3 cl of pineapple juice, the menthe leaves and mix it; Then, add crushed ice, 3 cl of kombucha and, to finish, top up with Porto Ruby.

Amicis Tonic

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 1 mint leaf; 1 lemon zest; 20 cl of tonic water; Ice. Preparation Mode: In the glass, start by freezing it by adding ice. Then drain the accumulated water; Add the lemon zest and mint leaf for flavoring; To finish, add the 5 cl of Amicis and then the tonic water.

Amicitto

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 2 mint leaf; 1 lime juice; 2,5 cl of sugar syrup; Soda water; Ice. Preparation Mode: In the glass, add 2 mint leaf, juice of 1 lime, 2,5 cl of sugar syrup and 5 cl of Amicis; To finish, add the ice and then the soda water.

Amicis Honey

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 3 cl of lemon juice; 2 cl of honey; 1 cl egg white; Coriander; Schweppes Premium Lime Touch; Ice. Preparation Mode: In the shaker, add the Amicis, lemon juice, honey, coriander and egg white; Then, pour into the glass with ice and fill it with Schweppes Premium lime touch. Finally, decorate the glass with honey pollen, dehydrated lemon and coriander.

Amicis Collins

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 3 cl of grapefruit juice; 2 cl of lemon juice; 3 cl of sugar syrup; 1 cl of egg white; Thyme; Ginger Beer Schweppes; Ice. Preparation Mode: On the shaker, add the Amicis, the grapefruit juice, the lemon juice, the sugar syrup and the egg white; Then, pour into the glass with ice and fill it with Ginger Beer Schweppes; Finally, garnish with grapefruit and…

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis; 3 cl of lime juice; 6 Mint leaves; 3 Sugar syrup; Soda Schweppes. Halloween Cocktail

Ingredients: 5 cl of Amicis 3 cl of lemon juice 4 cl Passion fruit juice 2,5 cl Sugar Syrup 1 egg white Preparation Mode: In the shaker, add Amicis, lemon juice, passion fruit juice, sugar syrup and egg white and beat everything and thenm serve in a tall glass; Decorate the glass with a reduction of Ruby port wine, cinnamon stick and dehydrated passion fruit.
