Nicole Steiner Photography

Image
I have been meaning to do this for some time, but with all the holiday preparations I felt like I never had time. Now that Santa has made his visit and that magical day is over for another 364 days, I want to spotlight the photographer who captured our family for our perfect Christmas card this year. I even received the copyright to edit the holiday card over her work, which is quite rare these days.

Do you have any friends who are super talented at everything they do? Baking scrumptious treats and divine dinners, teaching amazing church lessons, perfectly parenting twin girls, etc. Well I do, and her name is Nicole Steiner. And not too long ago she decided to add one more talent to her long list. Photography. She was super easily to work with, amazingly flexible with busy holiday schedules, and possesses a positive attitude. Working with her was a breeze, and I highly recommend it.

There were so many shots to choose from so deciding my favorite for our holiday card could have been quite hard. However, the second I saw my favorite used on the card I simply fell in love. A big THANKS to Nicole for snapping the perfect picture! Check out more of our shots at her website here.

Peace on Earth from Pampers

(Ignore the first ten seconds or so.)

Have you seen this commercial?
Do you wipe the tears away on your shirt after watching it?
Do you try to hide from your husband the fact that this commercial is making you cry again?
No? Me either.

The lights at Temple Square

Last night, we journeyed to downtown Salt Lake to enjoy the lights at Temple Square. As usual, the scene was beautiful and the weather was around 25 degrees. Perfect for walking or riding around a stroller in, right? We managed to keep Gavin warm but at one point he wanted to play in the snow so bad. So we cut the kid loose and smiles were all we saw. Despite several hundred people having the same Saturday night idea, we were able to feel that special spirit felt near the temple. Enjoy the pictures!

Did you happen to catch the Major League Soccer Cup Championship last night?
In case you missed it, Real Salt Lake played the LA Galaxy for the MLS title.
Guess who was the underdog and won?

The Turkey T-Shirt

Gavin is getting ready to stuff his little belly next Thursday.
Over-Eating Now to Stretch His Stomach: check
Thanksgiving Crafts: check
Official Thanksgiving Shirt: check

Blogs are created to share information, right? Well I want to share this shirt. I have a very talented friend who has a very talented sister. This said sister Morgan is one crafty mother. Last year she made this shirt for her two children and posted the directions here. And I have had my eye on this project for almost a year now. The shirt was super easy once I figured out how to operate my sewing machine again. Morgan said it took her 15-30 mins but she is a pro at sewing. It probably really took me just one hour and it probably took more time gathering the materials.
Anywho, enjoy!
And Happy Thanksgiving!

More Cruise

Some shots were taken with an underwater camera. One shot was taken of an illegal action.
Here are the links if you are interested in seeing more of this fabulous vacation.

A Diamond in the Rough

After reviewing photos from the cruise tonight, I think I found my favorite picture of me.
You might need to blow the picture full-screen to get the full effect of my awesomeness.
Thank you, Mrs. Smith for capturing this memory for me.

Halloween and Fall Fun

Billie Jean is not his lover...nor is any other.
He has too many lady friends and his age is a big issue right now.

I was too young for MJ's greatest years and never mourned his death back in June.
Yet oddly, I felt like paying tribute this Halloween. Regardless of my fan status, we all had fun.

Our Central American Cruise

With a few people knocking at my door to see some cruise pictures, I could not wait any longer. Amongst our friends, we are working on sharing the pictures from our travels. Until then, I hope you enjoy some shots from our camera.

It started back in April when Sean and I were deciding how to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary this past August. Being the mad internet researcher, Sean found an amazing deal for a Central American Cruise. We thought about it for exactly one day and booked the trip of a lifetime.

To top off the trip, we had the greatest fortune of our best friends coming along. Oh, and did I mention we were all children free for nine days? A big thanks to Grandma Forbes and Grandma Miner for watching our sweet and energized son. Really, the little man never stops running around.

Abroad the Carnival Valor, we spent seven days of rest and relaxation. And for the record, it has taken us twice as long to get out of the vacation funk. Our itinerary included Grand Cayman Island, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico. Once the gather the others' pictures, we will post some more. Until then, the pictures...
