Hello? Anyone still there?

I don't really know what to say.  I haven't posted for so long there is no way to explain it.  Life got busy, kids, classes, fun, cleaning, etc.  I know I have a few family members who want to see pictures and this is a quick and easy way of doing it so I'm posting some pictures, saying hello and hoping someone out there will see it.
Some highlights of the past year and our summer vacations.

First trip of the year camping in Great Basin NP and daddy found a horny toad for the girls to investigate

But Great Basin NP was still a little too cold, so we came home early and went to the Zoo

Our next vacation went much better to Glacier NP.  It was a wonderful place and we can't wait to go back there in the future.  This is one of the many glacier fed lakes and we're waiting for our boat to take us back after a long day of hiking.

Image
This gives an idea of how much snow there is up there.  This is not a glacier though, just a snow field.  This is on the hike to hidden lake by Logan Pass.

Do you see the resemblance?

We got to see big horn sheep, mt. goats, deer, and other critters, and don't forget the bears.  It is bear country for sure.  We saw one grizzly and one black bear that was walking right through our camp ground, but this picture shows some of the other amazing things you get to see here that you won't see anywhere else in the world.

Image
We ended our summer with the Weber Co. Fair.  Ellie got to show  her goat Rosie and had a great time.  The one with the brown hat is also my niece Emma.  She named her goat Dark Cloud, guess what her personality is like.

4 months with no post...is anybody still following?

I know it's been 4 months since I last updated, sorry. The good news is that we have been busy and having a lot of fun. I have tons of pictures to post so hope you all enjoy them. We're going to start with the oldest stuff and work our way down. It mostly in order, except for the flood stuff. I decided to add it last minute to help explain what we have been busy doing this whole spring.

Ellie's 3rd Birthday!

blowing out the candles...I can't believe she's 3, going on 23.

For her birthday, Ellie wanted to go on a train ride. So, we jumped on the frontrunner to Salt Lake and ate dinner at the Joseph Smith Building. It was cool because the roof place opened up and Ellie got to send her birthday wish up into the sky attached to a balloon. She thought this was awesome!!

Just leaving the station. Ellie was sooooooo excited.

Now we move on to Kallies 1st birthday. Yep, my baby is one! I had a hard time believing this myself. It has gone by so much faster with this second one than it seemed to with the first. We love our sweet Kallie and feel so blessed that such a wonderful little girls had come to our home.

Her cute Caterpillar cake, made by my sister again. She is a wizard with cakes.

It's tough getting a one year old to blow out a candle. She just wanted to eat the cake.

Her first taste of cake and she loves it.
Image
She couldn't get it in fast enough. She had to use both hands and shove it in a fast as she could.
Image
She was very excited about opening presents too. Just look at her face.
Image
We also had an Easter visit from Grandma and Grandpa. The girls loved having them here. It was a great weekend.

We'll move on to our summer trips. We went to Moab to do some hiking and camping. This first picture is a road to drove down to the bottom of Canyonlands. This picture does not do justice to how narrow, steep, bumpy and scary this ride was, but the views in the end were great. It gets you right down next to the Colorado River.
Image
It was a little hot for our little hikers. Ice cream was a good way to cool off after a fun day of hiking.
Image
Kallie really enjoyed herself, she loved riding in the backpack and seeing the sights. Here she is at delicate arch at the end of a very long and hot hike. She was the only one still smiling.
Image
Ellie was a little trooper. She loves to hike, but this was a pretty difficult one. We made it and the views were well worth the effort.

Mesa Arch, Canyonlands. The last time Lance and I were in Moab we woke up at 5:30 am to hike out to this same arch and see the sun rise over it. Now 10 years later, we're married with two little ones. How things change in just 10 years.

The girls and I had the opportunity to take a little trip to Colorado Springs with my Aunt Julie. It was a fun time. We got to do a little sight seeing and went to the Garden of the Gods. These pictures are from the balance rock there.

To finish up I thought I'd show the reason why I've been a little busy this spring. We spent quite a bit of time sandbagging in our community. Even though it was bad, we all know it could have been worse. Several homes were in the path, but were blessed to be protected.
This is 5900 W. where they had to cut the road to let the waters through.

This house was basically an island at the worst part of the flood.
Image
With so much rain and cold this spring Ellie had to find ways to get out and play anyway. She loved to jump in the puddles and run around in the rain. After getting her pants soaked she decided it was just easier not to wear pants at all. Here she is out prancing around in nothing but her skivvees.
