    A perfect beginners drone.
I am so impressed. This was my first drone and is perfect if you are a beginner. It’s so easy to use and you don’t even need a smart phone or controller. It can be controlled by the preset modes on the actual drone. If you want to fly it manually you can use the app and it will show you in real time what you can see. The drone is very stable even when windy. Return to come feature works great or you can put your hand out and it will track it and land on your palm. The quality of the camera is amazing. Crisp 4k quality at 30 frames per second. Smooth and stable footage. It has an internal memory and the video and photos are easy transferred to the app and your phone so you don’t need a memory card. It’s safe to use and the propellers have guards on them and it comes with spares. It’s so cheap to buy now the next version is out but this is still great. Battery life isn’t great as it’s a small battery but it can be charged over usb c in about an hour or you can use spare batteries as they are removable. It requires registering and getting an operators id which is about £12 a year. If you are new to drones and need something easy to use to get into the hype then this is perfect.

Really impressed with the DJI Neo. It’s properly easy to use, even if you’re not a drone expert. The palm take-off works really well and the controller-free setup makes it feel much less intimidating than older drones I’ve owned.

The tracking is great and it follows you smoothly without constant input. QuickShots are a nice touch too and make it easy to get good footage without spending ages messing with settings. The video is sharp and the stabilisation does a great job, even when you’re moving.

It also feels well protected. The built-in propeller guards are ideal for peace of mind, especially when using it in tighter spaces or around people, and it’s been very stable in flight.

For the size and price, it’s a cracking bit of kit.

Brilliant little drone, no good for windy days due to how light it is. It works straight out of the box. The battery will last 10min approx per battery. Which gives me about 6 minutes of usable footage. Takes off from my hand. No good over water unless using a remote. Overall I definitely recommend this drone with or without a remote controller. Easy to use.

I am new to the drone hobby. This drone is fantastic and I love it. There are quite a few things I would have liked to have known before I got started.

Firstly I wish I bought the "DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo" which includes batteries, FPV (First Person View) googles and the joystick style controller (which is very natural for joystick loving users to use). This is what I would buy now, but I bought the drone only, because I was unsure about what I wanted.
I have ended up buying the battery charger (not necessary as you can charge the drone directly with a USB C cable, but a nice to have). I ended up buying the googles and RC motion 3 and I also got the RC2.
      Use case:
1 FPV you need the googles and an FPV controller (I bought the Motion 3, which I love but does not allow for manual full speed control) but you can also get the DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 which allows full manual mode and top speed flight. (I don't currently have this controller).
2 For filming you have a few options, the drone with no controller at all, you can use the app on your phone or tablet (you need a device with wifi and mobile data to set up for the first time). If you use an android device you can only get the app from the DJI website which I do not like. This requires more messing and allowing 3rd party install etc.
You can also use various other controllers, the best in my humble opinion is the "DJI RC 2" which has a host of features including the auto return home function which the drone alone or app don't have.

I think this is a fantastic fun and safe drone which I am really enjoying, mainly for FPV. A lot of people moan about the video quality, but for home use I think it is great. I guess when you are comparing to professional kit, it is lacking. I can't imagine anyone would buy a £200 drone and expect pro level video out of it. But the video you do get is great in my opinion.

So bottom line, I bought this for fun and FPV, the fact I can inspect my roof with it, is simple a bonus.

If you are considering getting into FPV, get that version of the Neo package, if you want video I would look at the Pro 5 mini, if you want a mix of FPV and better video perhaps take a look at the Avata 2.

Any which way you will have a lot of fun.

I think I will get the Avata 2 next.

Amazing Drone, perfect for hikers, Instagram, social media. Not amazing in windy conditions- but quality of recording is awesome. the 8 tricks it can do make for a really professional video. The person tracking is great, and this works for running too. Recommend a second battery (17 mins of flight) - but you can recharge from a battery pack between recordings and it charges the relatively small battery pretty fast. They do offers with 2nd batteries and a charger - depends on what you want. Can't fly mega fay away- but can be controlled from your phone to about 25/30 m really. Careful not to fly it out of range where you can't get signal back - it will just hover - then land (e.g. in a lake/ off a cliff) if the battery gets low. It does not return to you when battery hits a limit.
But this is a fantastic rugged TINY drone that takes no time to get used to.
use the app on the phone to set all the variables- but you can then fly it without the phone on the quick menu built in. Drone tells you all the settings it has from a one button cycle on the top

5.0 out of 5 stars DJI Neo, Mini Drone

Already own a sub 250 gram drone with a 4K camera and 3-axis gimble so...

Did extensive research prior to purchasing the DJI Neo by reading/watching lots of reviews. After a few days toying with it, I am 110% sold. Nope by no means is it perfect yet IMHO, the positive far outweigh the negatives.

Build quality is first rate in my opinion so should stand up fairly well. Props are well protected, battery latches firmly into place, has a camera guard/cover, power and mode control buttons are top mounted, has voice prompts, available in a "Fly More Combo" kit, etc.

Super small footprint yet packs a punch. Multifunction in that it can be flown w/o a phone or RC controller, with a mobile phone, and/or with the DJI RC-N3 remote controller. Has palm takeoff and landing, voice control, AI subject tracking and quickshots, etc. Compared to other drones equipped with a single axis gimble, DJI stabilization technology really does a great job in keeping the footage smooth. I've gotten between 11-13 minutes of battery runtime so we are OK with that.

My only real complaint(s) would have to be the limited onboard (non-removable/upgradable) storage. Although 22GB seems fairly ample so far it is an odd choice for such a device... To download footage requires plugging the drone into a device, no battery/power-on needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value Compact Drone for Beginners and Casual Flying
Reviewed in the United States on 21 January 2026
Style Name: DJI Neo (Controller-Free)Verified Purchase
The media could not be loaded.
The DJI Neo 1 is a small and compact drone with a very good price-to-quality ratio. It’s an excellent option for beginners or for people who don’t need a large, complex drone or special permits. In my case, living in Colombia, drones under 200 grams do not need to be registered and are considered recreational, which makes this model even more attractive.

Despite its size, it offers decent image quality and useful features for casual flying. It’s lightweight, easy to transport, and very convenient to carry anywhere. Of course, we can’t expect a 30-minute battery life from a drone this size—the average flight time is around 14 minutes—so I highly recommend having at least three batteries for a better experience.

It’s important to understand that this drone has the DNA of more professional DJI drones, but it is not a professional drone in a small body. The image quality is good for its category, but one limitation is the lack of a more advanced multi-axis gimbal. Additionally, strong winds can affect stability when flying at higher altitudes.

Overall, it delivers exactly what it promises. It’s a very good drone that I would recommend both to beginners and to drone enthusiasts who want something compact, portable, and easy to use without taking up much space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eine echte SPASS-DROHNE! Aber dieses Zubehör braucht ihr...!
Reviewed in Germany on 26 August 2025

      VORWORT

DJI RC-N3 (im Fly More Combo enthalten)

DJI RC 2 (bekannt aus Air 3 und Mini 4)

      DJI FPV Remote 3

      DJI Motion Controller 3

      MUST-HAVE ZUBEHÖR

      Meine klare Empfehlung:

DJI RC-N3 (im Fly More Combo enthalten)

DJI RC 2 (bekannt aus Air 3 und Mini 4)

      DJI FPV Remote 3

      DJI Motion Controller 3
