Maddie, 5: "Hey look I can do a magic trick!"
Marc: "Does this magic trick involve you going straight to bed?"
Maddie: "Erm...no."
Marc: "Interesting. I have a magic trick that gets my kids to bed super fast. It's called 'spanking'. Wanna see how it works? One...Two...Three..."
Maddie: "!!!"

Seven Things I Love About Lilly
On the 10th Lilly turned 7. I can hardly believe she's already SEVEN!?! Where has the time gone?
I thought I'd share a couple of things that I LOVE about Lilly here:
1. She is so loving...and loves to cuddle.
2. She has the FUNNIEST sense of humor...so dry.
3. She is a wonderful artist.
4. She is a great helper.
5. She has the cutest little bum. (I know I shouldn't say things like that about my seven-year-old...but it's true.)
6. She loves to sing.
7. She has a great imagination...and loves playing with others.
And this:

Quote of the Week ~ 2/15/13
Maddie brought me a piece of Valentine's candy, and asked if she could have some. I said no, and she asked again.
Me: "Um...can we wait until after lunch to have candy, please?"
Maddie, 4: "Sorry, Mom. I like chocolate more."
Me: "You like chocolate more than being obedient?"
Maddie, unwrapping the chocolate, and putting in her mouth: "Yup."
At least I can say she's honest.

Quotes of the Week ~ 1/8/13
Lilly's 1st grade teacher informed us that Lilly just won the "Too Much Information" award for the decade! LOL (WARNING: her TMI comment is posted below...so don't read on, unless you want to!) ;)
Here's what Lilly, age 6, told her teacher: "My Mom is gonna have a surgery, 'cause her thingie where a baby grows is going ALL skiwampus."
And this choice conversation that took place this morning:
Maddie, 4: "Mom. Does Daddy have a blob?"
Me: "A what?"
Maddie: "You know...a BLOB...that you type things on...and put pictures on.?"
Me: "Huh?"
Maddie: "You KNOW...on the computer? Nevermind. I think mommys only have blobs."

The Tempest
Ellie recently had the opportunity to play the part of Ariel in her school's production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. She did a fantastic job in her part and was so cute and spritely. Here are some of the pics we were able to get of her!

Quotes of the Week ~ 12/14/12
I've already published these on Facebook...but I thought I'd share them here as well:
Sunday, after church:
Mom: "Would you like a piece of toast for a snack?"
Maddie, 4: "No. I would like something chocolate."
...and this classic conversation, during dinner prep one night:
Mom: "Ellie, would you please go get the salad dressing?"
Ellie, 11, groaning and rolling her eyes: "Yes, Mom."
Mom: "And can you please do it without sounding put out and the condescending attitude, since you are sous chef this week, and it is your job to help with this sort of thing?"
Ellie: "..."
Mom: "What? No, 'Yes, Mom.'?"
Ellie: "I'm afraid I will sound put out and condescending."
