A first time visiting the aborigines village on the West Papua Island. It is exactly as depicted on National Geographic documentary programs. What a sight!!!...

Ok! After back from visiting the primitive people at Wamena.... My fishing journey starts with a 6 hours motorbike ride to the South West of this island.... road was not so bad luckily, there was no rain along the long ride.....
There were no bridges along this journey, you have to make 2 river crossings using the local's ferry boat service....
Sometimes some bridges collapsed during the heavy raining season,... making it hard to cross over...
The rough and bumpy road making it even harder to ride on.... Look what happened to our bag of rice that was carried behind the motorbike...... STOP!!! Our rice was spilling all over the ground....
Finally, after a 6 hours ride.... we have reached the small village by the river.....
After a few negotiations with the locals, finally we were granted a space to rest in one of the village's hut....
Life is really simple and laid back here....
Simple meal with some grilled fish and white rice for the night....
Time to get some rest....
After all the usual delays and troubles, finally we made it to the river in the noon....
Look at the marvelous sight along the river.... simply beautiful...
Here came my first catch,... a Saltwater Arridae Catfish?! Isn't it supposed to live in the sea?....
Here comes the Golden Barramundis..... YES!
Caught a nice sized Northern Saratoga... What a beauty!!!

My stomach called for a lunch break....
There's only one menu option here grilled fish and grill fish and grilled fish.....
Well, we can't carry too much access due to the long journey by motorbike.... and it's lucky we caught fish and fish and fish...... Or else, we will just have to make do with plain white rice and some chilies...
More action after lunch break....
There are plenty of fish stocks in this pristine water,... I can hardly imagine a big catch from land base can come so easily.....
Of course it is even more easier to fish from the canoe.....
A Arriidae Catfish again??! Wow! These guys really stay in this freshwater river system now...huh?!...
Some action for my friend too.... and that's all for the day. Where we had to go back to the village a bit sooner doing slow canoe paddling in order to save some fuel for tomorrow action....
After all the hassle from the first day, the second day was much more smoother that allowed us to depart earlier for some action....

After much action for a day,...our cameraman Hoe said we have recorded all the materials that he needed and he wants to leave earlier after our plain white and grilled fish lunch AGAIN....

Too simple meal for comfort.... Hoe cannot take it any longer....
After some action on our way back to the village.... We decided to leave early to catch our last ferry across the rivers on our way back to civilization....
Well, I wonder if I will come back to this river again?.... Bye now!!
