After a five hour give through the Columbia George and the Wind Farms of Oregon we arrived in John Day,Oregon.
Our first camp site at the state park...it was actually just the grassy area of the rest stop. All the campsites were full so we had to wait until morning for a regular site.
Moving to our new campsite. It was perfect, except for the bull frog that would rib-it, all night and all day.
A picnic lunch, after the fossil museum and just before our hike.
The beginning of our very HOT hike
At the top...almost, Dad went to the very top!
Cooling off in after our HOT hike :)
The river was full of Crawdads.
Ready to head to church in John Day. As you can see we had a very large campsite.
A Sunday drive high up the in mountains lead us to this perfect lake to cool off, once again.
Roaming around the Painted Hills.
We finished the trip in Fossil Oregon where we dug for our own fossil. We found quite a few plants, and got to bring them home.
The long drive was worth every minute.
