Old pictures

If you hadn't noticed, some pictures that I posted earlier of Nikolay are now missing. I didn't know he was so vain, but apparently he didn't think that he looked good in some of them, so I removed them per his request the two pictures I am posting today are from 2000 and 2003. He found them on his old hard drive today and emailed them to me so that I could post them. I think it is cute that he even cares. He does look good in them. The funny thing about the one by himself is that he didn't even want me to take it. He doesn't like to smile in pictures. I like how jovial he looks in that one, and that is hard to capture on film (how would you say that now with digital cameras?). The other one is in front of the San Diego temple. I am going to count these pictures for today and yesterday's.
I am finally making some friends here and I am so excited. Yesterday a mom, from down the street, knocked on my door with her kids to introduce herself. Her husband actually grew up in Utah and most of his family is still out there so we have some things in common. She likes quilting like me and is going to show me a good fabric shop. I am going to start a new quilt pretty soon and I'll tell you who for later.
Another mom, from our ward, invited us to go swimming with her and her kids today and that was a lot of fun. We played tag in the pool. It was great. We are going to see them later this week too.
I have had the same check out girl in the grocery store 3 times in a row and am really starting to feel like I live here not that we are just visiting.

Picture of the day

So,I might not have as much time as I would like to sit down and write a lot (it takes two hands and a lot of concentration) due to my current life demands (4 little kids), but I do want to keep up-to-date on my blog and since a picture is worth a thousand words, I am going to start the Van Natter picture of the day challenge. I'm not sure what the guidelines really are, but I am going to post a picture taken every day, not that I will be posting every day, but when I do post, I will post a picture from each day. I am starting with July 23rd.

Day 2, July 24th
ImageI let Dallin feed himself yogurt for the first time and he got really messy as I expected. I was busy making borscht because we were having some new friends over for dinner. It was Pioneer Day, but we didn't celebrate at all. The day before I had noticed that it would be Pioneer Day but then I didn't remember until bedtime that it was.

Day 3, July 25
ImageWe went to a wildlife conservancy today. It is so nice to walk through the woods here. I feel like I am in Minnesota.

Day 1, July 23rd
ImageThe summer boredom blues have really hit us bad and so I decided to take the kids to the park for a long time and we tried to take some good pictures. Ariel is striking a pose here.
ImageI think this picture of Adriana was the best one I took all day. It was her idea to stand by the tree and I wanted to get those ruins in the background
ImageAnnika is playing peek-a-boo peeking out from behind this stone wall. She is developing a really silly and fun-loving side to her personality lately.
ImageThis is about the only shot I got where Dallin was actually looking at the camera. Doesn't he look like a giant with a small castle behind him?

Catching up from Pennsylvania

So, we really did move to Pennsylvania. I'm going to post a few pictures today And maybe write some in the near future.ImageWe went to the Crayola Factory as our first outing in our new state.

ImageI know only Dallin is looking in this one, but isn't he cute?
ImageThere is a cool park really close to our house with tons of ruins of old buildings in it. It also has bike trails where we went bike riding today.
ImageGrandma Lori came to help us get settled and we took this picture on our front step right before we took her to the airport.
ImageI can't believe it has been a whole year since I started this blog. We celebrated Nikolay's birthday with cheese cake and lots of presents from the kids.
