Fun with Grandma Svetlana over Christmas Break

ImageGrandma Svetlana came to visit us for Christmas, and we are so glad she did. We had a really great time despite almost everyone having a turn with the stomach bug that was going around.
ImageWe went to our local science museum together. The DaVinci Science Center is small, but a lot of fun. It made sense to buy a season pass and we have been nack 3 more times and explore something new each time.
ImageThey had a blue screen where we could pretend to forecast the weather.

Pip the Mouse

Image
We went to see a free puppet show about a mouse who helps Santa, then they got to meet the person-sized Pip afterward. The show is held in the same church where the Liberty Bell was hidden for a while so the Brits couldn't destroy it. They have a replica Liberty Bell that they rang for us too. We were actually late due to snow and parking so I sent the kids with Nikolay And Svetlana to see the show again the Monday after Christmas, while I was recovering from being sick all night long.

Doesn't Alice look like such a big girl standing up in jeans? I can't believe she will be one soon. What happened to my little baby?

Kids ask the toughest questions

Last night at dinner, while taking a bite out of a drumstick, Annika asked, "When Jesus resurrects all the animals, does he even resurrect the one that we eated?"

November Pictures

ImageWe went to the Washington DC temple the first Saturday in November. This is the only picture we took becasue it was cold outside. The parking lot and the visitors center were very crowded because there were 4 stakes having their stake temple day. We were so grateful to a family in our ward who watched our kids for us at the visitors center so that we could attend the temple together, something that rarely happens. Afterward we went to a burrito place together.
ImageI tried to get a shot of Alice's hair in a big pointy shampoo spike, but it was so tall that it kept toppling over.

We went to MA for Thanksgiving with the Miners and my parents came out too. We had such a good, relaxing time.

ImageOne thing I love about big family get-togethers is grandparents and aunts and uncles interacting with my kids (and letting me relax a little.)
ImageThis was the only group shot I got...They were watching "How to Train Your Dragon," while waiting for dinner.ImageThe kids' table.

More pictures from before trick or treating

ImageI find that my husband is especially handsome, when he is taking care of the kids. Maybe it is evolutionary.
ImageDallin had a great time at the firehouse the other day.
ImageSo did I.
ImageAnd our little witch Annika, (she didn't want to change out of her costume after story time before going to the firehouse with MOMs club). Everyone who works at the firehouse is a volunteer. I think that is amazing. Fireman Barry was especially friendly and even posed for a picture.

Did you hear her say "Ball?"

Pictures from picking apples and Annika's birthday

Image This is the cake that I made on her actual birthday. I think it qualifies as a cake wreck. You can't see how bad it really is because of all the white. So, I think I made up for it with these cupcakes for her friend birthday party 5 days later.
ImageAlmost everyone who leaves comments for me regularly is also a Facebook friend of mine, so you have already seen the apple picking pictures and these unicorn cupcakes. But, for those of you who are just lurking, please leave me a comment! I would like to know who you are. Like a mysterious reader from Turkey who spent an hour last week reading my blog and clicking on 50 something pages. Who are you? What do you think about my posts? Really, I want to know, it makes me happy.
ImageImageThis was the first time that any of my girls have had an official tea party (well pink-lemonade tea party). It was fun doing some of the things Fancy Nancy likes to do, like using doilies and folding napkins to make them fancy. (If any of these girls' moms are reading this and want me to remove the picture of their daughter, just let me know, and I gladly will.)
ImageAnd a post isn't complete without a picture of Alice.
