Lemon-Aid For A Cure Highlights April 2011!

Image
I know it has been a year since my last post, but life got crazy and I let our blog go for a bit.  I thought i would highligh the past year events.  There may not be too many stories to go with the pictures....

Last year we dedicated our Lemon-Aid stand to a wonderful family friend Russell Wentworth who since then lost his battle to brain cancer.  The kids were able to raise over $1500 in just 2 hours.

-----------

*Back story*
Well that time has come around again and our girls along with two new recruits, Camden (Sydney's brother) and Allison (Emma's sister) are preparing for our 3rd annual Lemon-Aid stand for cancer.* Sydney has really been touched this year by a family friend who is sadly loosing his battle to cancer. After I put Sydney to bed a few days back, I heard her crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I don't want people to have cancer anymore. I'm sad my friend's dad is sick with cancer." I couldn't put it more perfectly. The next morning she told me, "Mom, I want to do our Lemon-Aid stand for Russell. Is that ok?" I replied, "That is a perfect fabulous idea!"

*The kids had a goal of $400 last year and AMAZINGLY doubled their goal to $800! Anson and I were taken back by all the support everyone gave Sydney and her friend. We thank you! In the past two years, they have donated a total of $1000 with your help! Well the kids this year have set a high set a goal of $1000 for Russell! So if you are needing to wet your whistle or need something sweet on Friday, feel free to stop by!

FYI...I have had several people ask if they can donate even if they can't make it or live in Tracy. Yes, you can and thanks for asking!
