Supporting short-term technical work with civil society, media, and grassroots groups navigating digital fragmentation and isolation.
Breakout Program
Next deadline: Jul 14, 2026
The Breakout Program is a $200,000 seed funding initiative launched by eQualitie to support resilient communication technologies that address connectivity and self-determination within national networks (intranets). This initiative is aimed at supporting continued development of decentralized/federated tools and protocols, improving integration and interactivity between existing systems/libraries, and investing in bold yet realistic initiatives that enhance communication within isolated networks.
A digital infrastructure support program by eQualitie, designed for independent media, NGOs, and civil society initiatives. Our goal is a censorship-free internet, which is why we focus on tools that enable access and enhance digital security, regardless of where users are located in the world.
Selected applicants will receive a one-year grant package that includes:
· WordPress website hosting and hands-on implementation support;
· Consultations on digital strategy and security;
· Access to eQualitie’s infrastructure services: eQpress, Deflect Protection, Deflect Detour, and eQtube.
Together, these tools can help keep your content accessible even amid online censorship and attacks.
