Oh my gods, I need to stop picking up prompts to fill. Also to stop screwing up my sleep schedule, but that's another thing entirely.

Not that I. am actually sure I will even finish what I have started, and am definitely not going to comment to say that I am planning on filling it, but. my brain already is thinking up scenarios for it!?!? At least it seems to be more of a oneshot fill than my multichaptered insanities like GGYG or OBFASM. @__@ Another one of those would drive me crazy.

(Still, the prompt was amazing. Also I should go see whether anyone has filled the East Asia mahjong prompt yet, just because. lolol East Asia playing mahjong. I mean, it's what happens at almost every family get-together if my grandparents are there. ...Okay sometimes even when my grandparents aren't there. ♥ mahjong.)

Hwaaaaah. I think I'm pretty much decided that I'll be cosplaying China at Fanime. It's just... simpler. I mean, I'd love to cos' War of Austrian Succession!Spain? But I don't think I'm actually good enough to pull him off yet. orz

And probably, I won't be cos'ing at CWT&FF next summer if I go, since it would take too long to get ready, and doujinshi > cosplaying, ahaha.

But man, yes, Thanksgiving break! Ugh, hopefully I can sort out where I'm stuck in two of the fills I'm working on, and that I have a general idea beyond setting + perspective + character intro yey! for the third one. I am terrified these are going to end up being eternal WIPs like that one vampire!Prussia/priest!Austria prompt, but... they were too interesting to pass up! I am so weak. (I will finish the vamp/priest thing someday! .......someday!)

ah~ I can finally go break down my playlist, too, to see what kind of plot/setting/characters I can extract from it. oh break, I love you so~

(sob at least I will definitely try to get the next chapter of the mentioned third fill up quickly, because ohgods, I need to correct the typos that my phone's autocorrect caused. it's bugging me SO MUCH sob whyyyyy SCREW YOU AUTOCORRECT FEATURE. "OFFED" IS TOO A WORD. ;___; )

Ah~ the holiday season is fast approaching. I love this time of year - or at least, the atmosphere of this time of year; I could honestly do without the cold. (You people who live in areas that deal with snow, shush, I am spoiled by California weather, okay. My ideal temperature range is like 80s to mid-90s plus humidity. Caliiiii why aren't you more humid. ;__; ) I love the overcast skies and the changing leaves, and watching all the lights go up for Christmas. It's just kind of beautiful, really.

I am also utterly ecstatic over the fact that my writer's block seems to be gone. Gods, I have missed creating, and just. THANK YOU [livejournal.com profile] hetalia_kink for kickstarting me again (also for the people who requested the prompts I'm filling, thank you so much.) Yeah, it's all fanfiction at the moment, but I am hoping once I get a solid basis for this one origific I want to do based on one of my playlists, I'll be able to get a good start on that, too.

And now I'm going through this journal and man, I'd forgotten how many plot bunnies I'd half-started. (I also didn't realise just how many of them were AUs, though I... really shouldn't be surprised by that.) And I think from now on, I'll solely be using this journal, since... honestly, anything really personal will probably end up on plurk. And I can always f-lock here, fandom journal or not.

I should probably go find more Hetalia people to spazflailglee with. Also, goddammit, but where did I put my notes for that Merlin/HP crossover fic I was planning awhile back, anyway!? (Also, I should probably reorganise tags here, if I'm going to be using this thing more often.)
asinter: (Default)
In an attempt to see how ridiculous a crossover I could make--

Writing meme! Choose a couple numbers between 1-50 (inclusive) and then give me a scenario. Or more. IT SHOULD BE INTERESTING.

CLOSING, AAAAH. I just got a list of prompts over Skype, off to write now aaaaah.

Title: Damn You, Pete Wentz!
Fandom: Bandom (pre-split Panic at the Disco)
Characters: Panic, Pete Wentz
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Real people, fictional story.
Summary: It's like the best-kept secret in the world, except for the fact that the fans seem to write about It as though they know. Genderswitch! Also Ryan Ross's general disdain for fanfiction.
Notes: I couldn't really figure out where to go after a bit, so well. Thus why it ends where it ends! Badly written and ridiculously trope, but at this point, I'm just thankful to have written something.

Damn You, Pete Wentz! )

[wry] Watching the Interview with a Vampire trailer makes me want to stick Edward Cullen into Louis' role. Except Edward is still his own special brand of vampire, amidst vampires who are.... not so special! It would be hilarious!

I can just imagine it now, Edward brooding over how he's a monster! not just to humans but to other vampires! He goes into the sunlight to try to commit suicide and sparkles instead! (I am not sure whether Lestat would find that wtf or hilarious. Actually I'm not sure whether Edward would actually commit suicide, but.) And he'd still try to be vegetarian, which. haaahahaha.

He'd probably still make an awesomely terrible mom for Claudia though.

(I haven't actually read Twilight yet.)

Nrrgh, I have ideas - so many ideas! - for fic, but. I've hated everything I've actually written so far. Fuuuuuck I'll just. keep writing, I guess, and hope something good comes out of it.

The more I read about Diana Gabaldon's recent stance on fanfiction, the more it pisses me off.

This is long, and rambly, and kind of meandering. Sorry. )

Essentially, fanfiction, I love you. ♥

Passing this on - how to opt out of a search engine that collects public information about you on the web

Seriously, the idea people can find all my blogs and stuff in one place just by searching my email? Not cool.

(Cross-posted to [personal profile] ensoot/[livejournal.com profile] ashesto/[personal profile] asinter/[livejournal.com profile] cinderscape. Apologies if you end up seeing it several times.)

In which I attempt to remember every WIP and soon-to-be WIP on my plate, hau hau. Speaking of, I should probably actually make a masterlist of my writing eventually, especially since it's scattered over two journals, neither of which are that well-organized. Also, it's just cleaner.

Yeah, let's toss this whole thing under a cut. )

I would not be surprised if I missed something. Or a lot of somethings. I have more plot bunnies than I can even think of keeping up with.

It was the last summer storm, they said, but then summer itself had been dragging out its days until it had to give way to fall.

...I want to figure out how to use that line somewhere. I don't know where, but goddammit do I want to use that line.

My entry for mix exchange over @[livejournal.com profile] adellyna. Prompt was "something about exploration, new worlds or horizons; if the songs could retain one mood throughout (like no sudden dirges in the middle of upbeat happy songs), then that would be awesome. But not necessary."

Admittedly I didn't realize how few songs I had that fit until I started working on the mix, so I ended up digging around for new music, which I suspect is partly why the mix ended up so... odd. It also ended up being about journeying as much as exploration, but I hope the recipient finds it all right nonetheless.

Credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] antiva for the awesome, awesome covers.

I am so, so glad I was able to go to the show tonight. I admit I was a little nervous, because it was the first show I'd been to located in such an intimate venue, but seriously, it was fuckin'-A. I also met the tiniest fans - they were twelve! and totally fun. \o/ I bought a Young Veins shirt at the start, too, since I wasn't sure how long I'd be able to stay. Stamp shiiiiiirt. It is very awesome.

And now, I ramble! ...so, so much. )

And now I am seriously, seriously crashing from a music and caffeine high. Sleep calls! But best night ever.

Is it just me, or do the Wentzdom bands tend to crossover a lot more fic-wise than say, the bands under SME or JE do?

I mean, this might be a case here of me just not being deep enough into Asian bandom, but. From what I've seen so far you just don't seem to get those epic pan-band fics in SME-dom or JE-dom that you might with those under the FBR label. Which, I don't know how close most of the bands under Johnny's Entertainment are, but it's canon that there are ties between DBSK and SuJu, and DBSK and TRAX, and I think SuJu and Epik High too? And yet!

Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. Then again, from what I've seen so far, the idea a lot of the fic authors have about their fic plots - at least for K-pop bandom fic - lean towards mirroring K-dramas in terms of, well. drama and plot points. (which well. I don't watch K-dramas because I can't get over how ridiculous they can be. They're pretty much Asian soap operas!)

It would probably also help if there were primer posts for a lot of these Asian bands, too. Or primers with more info than, like, D.O.B./height/likes/dislikes. I know at least for me, primers were a huge help in introducing me to all the bands in Wentzdom, plus all the ties between the different bands and stuff. I'm not sure something like that actually exists for the bands under SME.

...Okay, I admit. More than anything, I actually just want Kangta/Vanness street racing AU fic. Alas, their fandom is GOSHDARN TINY. :( Or at least the English-speaking side of it is; I have no idea what the Chinese&Korean-speaking side of the Kangta & Vanness fandom is like. So I'd probably have to write it myself or something, except I know almost nothing about Kangta. And the extent of my knowledge of Vanness is that he was in F4 and that he seems to be panning out into singing in Japanese as well as Korean and Chinese and English (seriously, that man is kind of really amazing), and also that he'll jokingly say things like Kangta is his boyfriend in interviews and stuff. o Vanness.

sigh... and my wireless connection is still being an ass.

I was all bummed about losing the fic idea I'd had this morning that I'd gotten due to sleep dep, but then I thought of unicorns! (literally) And I remembered! And the idea is totally ridiculous but like I actually care overly much about that anyway.

slave fic + unicorns? yes. )

and then they have wacky hijinks with a unicorn? IDEK.

oh god what am I doing I don't know how to write Pete Wentz's voice. or Andy Hurley's voice. Or anyone's voice, no seriously what am I doing aaaaaaaaaaah.

a;slkdfjalksjdf help. :(

So yeah, okay, I think I'm pretty much switching this journal to a bandom(fandom?)-centric journal as well as writing-centric journal, if only to get more use out of it. Otherwise, it would just sit here to be updated only once in a blue moon, which is VERY SAD, because I like these usernames. Because I am a very, very slow writer. Alas.

I also had this post I was planning to write about how I really wanted to love The Young Veins' music, because it should be right up my alley! And theirs will be in essence the first show I'll be going to! (or at least, the first show I'll go to where I could understand what's going on. My Chinese, not amazing guys, which in a Jay Chou or Mayday concert? hahahahahaaa.) But I can't really get past more than having a love/hate relationship with what they've put out so far. Young Veins (Die Tonight) is A++! Tune-wise it is awesome, and its lyrics aren't amazing but decent enough that I don't cringe. I love the lyrics of Change but its sound is so recycled. And then The Other Girl makes me go auuuuuuuuuugh. It's so trite! And boring! And douchebaggy. It's like, didn't you cover this subject in the first album? But with better lyrics/music?

Also seriously, why are all these songs so short? It's like they were trying to churn these songs out as fast as possible. At most I can just like The Young Veins, and it makes me kind of sad, especially since I was expecting something in the lines of Northern Downpour and Behind the Sea (still my two favorite PatD songs).

But yes, I was going to have this rambly (well, more rambly) post about TYV's music. And then figured out that the entire thing could be condensed to Mr. Ryan Ross. Sometimes you frustrate me very, very much.

Auuuuuugh.

Still looking forward to the show though.

(You know what band I really want to see? Empires. Given how my life appears to be panning out after graduation though, that is. kind of unlikely to ever occur. Ah well. Still, Empires? Have been consistently putting out songs that I enjoy. They are sheer wonderful awesomeness.)

You know what I want to write? Besides the alien invasion fic which is getting ridiculously huge. I am determined to write that, though, somehow. It's just hard trying to find a starting point, because I have so much backstory for the Panic boys, and when I've tried to talk about it, it is horribly disorganized, even in my thoughts. I know what happens! just. trying to make it coherent. Possibly the point where Brent tells Spencer he can't help the others with spraypainting Ryan's words along walls any more, because it's too risky, that last person who went missing, she went to his and Brendon's school, and he can't afford to keep doing it. He's not as invested in the endeavour as, say, Ryan and Brendon are. (It is Northern Downpour + v1.0 incarnation Panic, graffiti artists with music on the side, because I find the idea enchanting.) So it would be post-invasion but pre-everything getting bad. And it'd give me opportunity to have both Brent and Jon, because Brent is the one who finds Jon as a sorry for having to be replaced. I don't know how Brent finds Jon yet though. Hrm.

Anyway, I'm getting off track. What I want to write, or have someone write for me, because my giant ideas usually just end there, is a kind of... carnival AU? Sort of. Where MCR kind of runs this crazy carnival for the Underworld, the supernatural world, the world of things that go bump in the night and is hidden from the eyes of the mundane. Magic and sharp and just the edge of chaos, and one night, Ryan stays out too late and accidentally comes upon it. He's kind of a kid at this point of the story. He doesn't understand what he's seeing, but it's amazing, and he thinks he wants to bring this magic to the day. Or something. He whispers all this to Spencer the next morning and they both sneak away that night where Gerard catches them and Ryan is a giant fanboy. Gerard is very enthused and earnest though yeah a little worried about revealing the Underworld because well. There are laws the Underworld has! Even if Gerard totally thinks the two worlds should be more open about each other. It's so sad what each world is missing being apart! And he's like, come back and talk to me in a few years if you're still interested.

Ryan totally does.

The point is, mostly I just want Gerard and Ryan doing a carnival thing together, with Gerard king of the night and Ryan the day. I still have no idea how Brent and Brendon and Jon fit in, or like. the rest of bandom (if it involves the rest of bandom), but yeah.

As if I didn't have enough WIPs/plot bunnies already.

Bandom!Steampunk:
Under the cover of darkness, two boys scrabbled up the hull of the airship. "Hurry up!" one of them hissed to the other; his name was Spencer Smith, and though he was the younger of the two he was also the more practical. The other boy was Ryan Ross, and Spencer had only joined him in running away because Ryan was his best friend, and he was sure Ryan would have fallen into serious trouble without him.

(And then later William who is captain of the ship will be peering at them when they wake up and APPARENTLY HE WAS WATCHING THEM SLEEP. And Spencer is just like a;slkdjfklj that's kind of really creepy, god and William is like, HUH. Did we accidentally hire you while we were drunk? You're kind of young.)

And A7X zombie apocalypse I know will never go anywhere, but I wanted to get this bit down anyway:
Zacky had always been pretty glad that Brian was in their band. Brian was an amazing guitarist, and just an all around great guy to hang with. He couldn't not be glad of that.

Right now, though, Zacky was really fucking glad Brian was in their band.

Brian cool-as-you-please brought up his gun again, aimed and fired and drew it back, one smooth movement that dropped the zombie on the road coming toward their speeding bus.

Yeah, Zacky thought. Really, really glad.

The first five people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any character (original or from an existing canon) of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal.

Do people actually follow this journal? OH WELL.

Huzzah! I've finally hammered out a scenario for Ioren to slip into - and figured out more of the mythology behind the White Lady (the calm, the unchangeable, magic, keeper of the Fates), the Huntsman (White Lady's husband, chaos, the wild, birth and death and renewal), and the Tempest Prince Duan (only son of the White Lady and the Huntsman, keeper of the wind and storms). [Note to self: Duan finds himself curious about the sleigh-wagon because he can feel parts of his mother emanating from it. (Yuletide wish gift, given to Rosanna Capell, which in turn is given to Ioren as per instruction.) Leading to interaction! Yey! ......plan further.]

And plotting at Ioren's story also got my brain gnawing on Cocoon Run. ....after I'd pretty much given up on working on that plot. Oi.
