God Will Lift Us Up

UPDATE:  Let's try this again and see if the video shows up this time.

Isn't it interesting how comforting words or advice can come in so many different ways? Today that happened to me when I was reading a friend's blog. I haven't checked her blog for many months and today for some reason I decided to check it out...I am so glad that it did. What a powerful message this video has in it. Enjoy

Masterpiece

Jocelyn (and the rest of her class) currently has some artwork displayed at the Red Mountain Mesa Public Library.  Very cool.  March 2012

Random Pictures

I love when I go to download pictures off the camera and I find evidence that the boys have been playing with the camera again. I love the things that they feel are so important that they needed to have them documented. The Lego creations are StarCraft buildings. StarCraft is a computer game that Jacob is currently obsessed with. We also have to have a couple pictures of Fluffy the pillow pet and of our favorite pillow that Grandma Gnehm made for the boys when they were just little guys. Here are just a few of their precious pictures. Got to love those 2 little boys.

Just Dance!!!

The girls were able to convince Aline to play Just Dance on the Wii with them the last time that Grandma and Grandpa came to town (February 18th). Aline had fun and Wolf sat on the chair saying that he was just going to act his age!  Good memories!

April Fools!

I love April Fool's Day. I don't know why but I love tricking my children. Here are the things that happened this year. There was many tears on Jayden's part when he found his carrots in his chip bag.  The boys feel that they have to drink apple juice for breakfast, so turning apple juice into jello was the first trick of the morning.  Hahaha!  They couldn't figure out what in the world had happened to their apple juice when they were trying to pour some into their cups.

Conference Notebooks

Jocelyn's activity day leader taught the girls how to make General Conference notebooks a couple weeks ago.  The greatest part of these notebooks is that you make tabs for the First Presidency and the Quorum of the 12 Apostles (Jessica and I even made a misc. tab for the other speakers of conference).  Now instead of having little pieces of paper getting thrown away of notes that we take during conference, they can all be in one place.  Jessica and I were so impressed with her notebook that we both decided to make one.  Jessica and I are working on a Personal Progress 10 hour project by taking notes during all the Conference talks (including the YW broadcast).  Jocelyn is also working on a goal that her activity day leaders set for them.

Jessica's Conference notebook...oops the stamps were too big and she ran out of room for the word conference.

My conference notebook
The notebooks were so fun for us to make and so easy!  Here are the steps to make your notebook:
Image
Put glue all over the front cover or the back cover of the notebook.  Don't put glue on the black binding.
Image
Glue paper down.  Place it so that either the top or the bottom is flush with the notebook.

Image
Cut off the excess on either the top or the bottom.  Don't throw this paper away!

Image
Fold over the excess from the side.

Image
If you want to add any emblishments, like ribbon, this is the time to do so, before you glue down the folded over paper.

Image
The extra paper that you cut off from the top or the bottom of the notebook is now the perfect size to finish filling in the gap on the inside of the notebook.

Image

Image
Cut out little tabs and glue them in position in the notebook.  Make sure that you space out the speakers.

Get a little piece of packing tape and put it over the tab to strenthen it (like lamination).
