Toothache…………

I have had a toothache for sometime and shame on me for not addressing it sooner.

By the time I was 19, I had already had a couple of fillings, all four wisdom teeth pulled and a front tooth replaced due to a shovel incident.  So, I am no stranger to dental work.  BUT, I have never had an actual toothache before and I went into the dentist with all sorts of dreading the worst possibilities: Root canal, massive drilling, tooth pulled etc.

Now, shame on me, it’s been a while since I have been to the dentist and was amazed at how some things changed.    They had a stand up, 360 degree x-ray machine and the x-rays were all digital.  The dentist even had a little pen camera that he could take pictures of individual teef.

The good news was that the dentist suggested that the pain was being caused by a plaque build up between two teeth and suggested doing a “deep cleaning”.  So, a deep cleaning it was.  The deep cleaning involved several nonvaccine shots !!!.  Always fun having a numb mouth.

After 2 days, almost 95% of the pain was gone so it looks like the problem was solved easily !!.

SO, as I was driving home, I was trying to call my wife.  I just wanted to talk to her because my mouth was numb and I couldn’t say the letter “F”.  When I said “dentist office”, it came out “dentist oooothice”.

But while trying to call my wife, I missed a call from my mom so I called her back.  She wanted me to come to her apartment and hang some photos for her.  I asked her if she anted to go to Portillo’s after my wife and came up to hang the photos.  Portillo’s and Culver’s are my mom’s favorite fast food places.  So, she agreed  and I told her we would be at her place on Friday after 4pm.  so far so good.

So the next day, Friday, at work, I get a call from my mother:

“You called?”

“Yesterday, we talked about hanging your photos and going to Portillo’s”

“I like Portillo’s”

So, we will be at your place today about 4pm”

“Do you know where I live?  I live next to X.”

No, you live in X”………………

But, finally got that figured out…….

2 burgers, 1 beef and 3 fries were  $38.00…..

A fair price these days for a “fast food” meal.

Well, being that it was Saturday, it was “Saturday night pizza night”

We had pizza at the in-laws house as my wife’s brother from DC was visiting.

I walked into a conversation that I didn’t hear the beginning of that was about jury duty.  I lamented the fact that I have lived 35 years in the same house, same county and have been a registered voter for all of that time but have NEVER been called for jury duty………….

Almost as if they filter the voter rolls so they don’t get certain kind of people.

The conversation started because the SIL had jury duty in DC.

What are the odds of a career State Department libtard gets on a jury for that?

Sunday was freaking cold !!!!!!!! (again)

We only got about two inches of light and fluffy snow.  Real easy to shovel, but cold, really, really cold.  Good news is that the wind was not blowing much.

Another week of not too much going on.

My brother told me Friday, that on Saturday, he and a guy he knows that has a couple of high school kids that are into repairing tractors was going to run up to our uncle’s place in Minnesota and bring back the two tractors that the uncle has.

One of the tractors is the standard issued “Farmall 806”.  The 806 was built 1963-1967 and every farmer in my town had that and that’s one of the tractors that “Farmer Dave” had when I worked for him.

The other tractor is a “Farmall Super C”.  My brother is all excited about having this tractor because it was actually purchased by our grandfather in about 1953.

I was only 5 in this picture, but I remember riding on the side of the tractor as my dad drove it out to our woods to dig up that tree and plant it at home.

My brother needs a tractor because the county assessor is a royal cunt and they are cracking down on the tax breaks for “farmettes”.  So he actually has to have “X” amount of land in production (including his chicken/egg production) to qualify for the exemption

Except with the headache Saturday, I just wanted to eat something and there was no pizza.

Sunday was freaking cold !!!!!!!!

I had to walk outside a couple of times and it was freaking cold !!! At least the wind wasn’t blowing.

I spent the day inside puttering around.

Changed the furnace filter

Cleaned the bathroom vent

Cleaned out the drain in the bathroom sink:

No one washes their hair in the bathroom sink, so how the #@&! does so much hair go down the drain?????

Been quite and normal.

Well, being that it was Saturday, it was “Saturday night pizza night”

I did two smaller, round pizzas instead of one rectangular one.

Animal’s Friday Announcement

For the time being, Animal Magnetism will be going on hiatus. Every post already up will remain up. I’m not shutting down the site. I’ll never give up the URL, which I’ve had for over 20 years. I will almost certainly pop in from time to time with big news, announcements, or just a rant that I can’t post elsewhere. But now, for the time being, regular weekly posts will cease.

So, I will be needing to replace one of my usual Sunday links.
