Road Trip! :)

Image
Just got back from a cool road trip. No time to post pictures, but what a great trip. We will post pictures later. We started out in the north, at Ulverstone. Then traveled south to Hobart. We went to the wharf where all the major shipping and staging to Antarctica take place. Day 2 we traveled from Hobart to Port Arthur. Port Arthur is where all the 2ND level convicts where the British high court sentenced to live in prison and was transported to Port Arthur for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately there were only 20% of the building left standing (a fire and the British destroying them after the prison was decommissioned) but it was amazing there. Day 3 we traveled up the east coast of the island. we stayed in Bicheno on the east coast about 1/2 way up the island. By that time it was rainy and overcast. Not much to see, but the beaches looked amazing. they were all white and sandy. we just returned back to Ulverstone. Everyone is happy and healthy. Tomorrow we are not planing any travels as we have been on the road for most of the last 4 days.

Love you all.

Just a few more great pic's!

Image Tasmania is a gorgeous place to be. One moment you are in the rolling hills of farmland where they grow potatoes, onions, fields of poppy's and tulips, apple orchards and grape vines. You will also find lots of sheep and cows. And just as you pop over the next hill, there is the most beautiful white sandy beach and turquoise blue waters. The great thing here is that you pretty much have free range over the beaches, it is public for everyone and so much of it around the island that it is not crowded which makes it even more serene.

Day 1 Australia Bound

Image
For anyone with a child, you will know that two flights 1/2 way across the U.S. in one day is quite a feat. But when you are traveling to Australia, just getting to LAX is only the first part of the journey. After that, you are on your way with a 14 hour flight to start. it's crazy long..... But both of us must say, Piper did amazing. She slept and played, slept and played... We can't even express how excited we were to arrived off our last plane flight 2 days later in Launceston (pronounced Lawn-ses-ten).

Image One thing we learned for next year, remove all wire ties and tape for easy removal of the toy. Piper had no patience waiting, she wanted the baby doll as soon as she saw it.
