And I Moved
Holding the farm together while taking care of a newborn girl and raising three boys on my own wasn’t working out for me OR my children.
I handed over the barn to my mother (who promptly turned it into a baby goat sactuary), packed up the kiddos and moved to The City! Which isn’t a big city at ALL but the schools are great and it has a college and parks and stuff to do, so here we are with sidewalks and parks and my kiddos ride their bikes to school and scouts.
It’s been great.
And hard.
But also amazing.
So…goodbye barefootfarms
I love you with all of my soul.
We still have chickens, but only four. Our neighbors have goats right next door who we feed through the fence, and their cats come over to visit until they’ve had enough love from the baby. And we have one fish.
It’s not MY ideal life, but my children are doing GREAT, and this is a time that they need me and they need stability, support, and good friends, PLUS!! I started going back to school to get my bachelor’s degree and WOW, I’ve got plenty of goodies on my plate for now. I started running, if you can call it that, and I’m writing down those thoughts over at http://singlemomjogging.wordpress.com in case you want to laugh at me. 😉
I’ll revert back to my roots
When that season comes around
But for now
I’ll embrace this one.
