My Carol Day!

Image
WARNING: this post will be long and sappy!

God has truly blessed me over the past five years. One, I was able to marry the love of my life. We are going to celebrate our five year anniversary next weekend. After I married my love, God put us in a situation that we were not planning for, but God knew exactly what He was doing. With the miracle pregnancy of Baylie and me having her when I did He opened the door to wonderful friendships that I cherish everyday. I have great friends that love the Lord, their family, and mine. Not all of the friendships happened at once. I have been blessed just recently with some amazing friends, although we are just beginning our "journey" together I feel that God has His hand on us and we are going to have a close relationship for years. But, there is this one friend who has my family's heart, Carol.

I have known Carol for awhile, but have become really good friends with her over the past 4 and a half years when we were both relocated to Houston. She is one of those friends that is so close that she is family. We have been there for each other in good times, and bad, which we have had a lot of both. She is always there when I need a shoulder to cry on, a friend to celebrate with, or someone to just bring some fun in my life. Her family has become our family we love them the same. She has wonderful parents and a sister who loves us like Carol loves us. Nathan and I are so excited that we are going to share our anniversary with her sister, Natalie, who is getting married on the 31st! We are so honored that we were invited and can share in the happiness!! My kids adore Carol, and she is Aunt Carol to them, except Baylie calls her, My Carol. She loves my kids too. She took out time this past Friday to take Baylie to dance and out for ice cream afterward. By looking at the picture above you can tell Baylie loved every minute of it. Carol came and picked us up in her beautiful BMW hard top convertible, yes, we were able to fit two carseats in the back and I have the picture to prove it! The kids loved riding in the car with the wind blowing all around them! Jake really took to it he kept telling Carol to Go! Go! Go!

After dance and ice cream Nathan came home andwe all went to Los Cucos while Carol waited for her boyfriend Micah to fly in from Savannah. It was absolutely beautiful so we waited for a table on the patio. We enjoyed the good food and Jake really enjoyed the green sauce!!

I am truly thankful for all the friendships God has given me and I am looking forward to the new ones He is going to bring.

Does anyone need a camera?

Hey Everyone,

Well, I am here to say I am sorry to all the garage sale buyers. You did not steal our camera and I am sorry, although, the lady with the glasses and short hair did still swipe some things. I went to my MDO meeting last night and I took Nathan's car. Since I had garlic bread with dinner I looked for some gum in the console. I did not find any gum, but I did find our camera!! Nathan and I had washed our cars after the garage sale and I guess it was put in the console when we were moving cars. I cannot believe that we found it! I really do feel bad for trashing the people that came to our garage sale. I'm sorry. I am excited that I got pictures that I did not realize were on the camera!! I forgot that pictures of Easter, Baylie's party, and my niece Kylie's party were still stuck in the camera.

Blog Addition

Hey Everyone,

We added some songs that our family really enjoys to our blog. (Thanks Tara for the tip!) We hope you like them. (If you need to have quiet while you look at the blog there is a pause button to silence the music) There are two songs on the playlist that are sung by a friend from high school, Kari Jobe. There is also a link to a video that Nathan and I love. It reminds us that we cannot handle all the battles we face everyday, but Jesus can and He came to give us life and protect us. It is amazing how God uses people everyday to help show His perfect love. We hope you are all doing well.

Blessings,
The Barrons

Photo Shoot

It was a gorgeous day today, and since I have not had Baylie's 4 year pictures done I thought I could just do them myself in the backyard. So, we put a dress on and the photo shoot began. I am not a photographer, but Baylie is a model in training. Here are a few of the shots I got to today. Hope you enjoy!

Monkey see, Monkey Do. It was really funny today. Jake wanted to pose like his big sister. Here is the ending pose. What you don't see since I don't want to upload a hundred pictures is that I basically have a flip book of Jake coming into the scene, sitting down, getting on his stomach, lifting his head, adjusting his eyes, and pose! It was hilarious and Baylie was cracking up the whole time!

Image I love how the sun is coming through the bushes. It is amazing to think that the Lord controls it all!

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Image

I promised pictures of Nathan playing his new Wii. I got the opportunity to snap a few while he and his brother, Matthew, played tennis. Nathan is the one on the right. It is hard to tell which one is which from the back! Jake is by the television taking it all in!

Let's do the Time Warp Dance!

Nathan and I have been very blessed this weekend so far. My mom and grandmother came in on Friday, on their way to my uncle's house, and Nathan's parents came in for Mason's (our nephew) dedication. My mom and grandmother, Mimi, got here yesterday and babysat the kids while Nathan and I went out and ate Mexican food. It was wonderful to have that time and eat great food too. The time warp began right when they got here. Baylie might look like Nathan, but she acts exactly like me. I am extremely close to Mimi and have always been. We had our own secret language and I wanted to be with her always! I remember my parents coming to pick me up from her and my Papa's house (which was only five houses down from mine) and me throwing a huge fit because I wanted to stay with her. I am not saying I threw a fit every time, but I know I at least cried. Right when my mom comes to visit the secret language begins with Baylie and they are off into their own world of granddaughter and grandmother. Everytime I see them together it's Mimi and I all over again. The same is true with the leaving except it is my mom leaving Baylie. Baylie cries every time, but instead of holding onto cabinets in order to not leave like I did she just straps herself into the carseat my mom has in her car. As all four generations look at each other we understand and take it all in stride, while poor Nathan is standing wondering what in the world is going on. Here is the big thing that shows God's sense of humor Baylie has two grandmother's where I only had one. So, I get back what I gave just double! I am really looking forward to our day tomorrow with Nana (Nathan's mom), but I'm already bracing myself for what is going to come.

Don't judge us by the picture. It was humid and hot and I refused to put make up on today!

Where does the time go?

Image A cowgirl always has time to pose for a picture!

Image "Seriously, stop laughing at me it's not my fault my hair is long and crazy!"

Well, I am enjoying the camera a lot! (Read the last post if you want to know why I, I mean Nathan, has a new camera.) As I looked at the new pictures I took of the kids I realized they are no longer little babies. Don't get me wrong they will always be my babies, but Baylie looked like a big girl and Jake no longer had the baby face that I just saw a week ago. They are growing fast. I am amazed the skills that they have mastered. Baylie has gotten really good at coloring in the lines and the conversations with her friends makes them sound like they are 15! Jake's vocabulary has rapidly improved. He is saying a lot of words, his favorite phrase is Let's Go! I wonder where he hears that from?!? :) My absolute favorite thing is that they are both learning about the Lord. I was amazed the other day when Baylie and I talked about her friend, Kenzi, who is moving to Ohio. Baylie asked if we could pray for her family every night for God to keep them safe! We all prayed for them right there in the car! Thank you Father for a daughter who has a heart for you already. I pray everyday that her heart grows fonder of having a relationship with The King. This weekend Jake pointed to the sky and said God! Praise the Lord he is already picking things up at 16 months!! Father, I pray that Jake becomes close to you and seeks to be a strong Christian man after your heart. Here are the pictures of the rapidly growing Barron kids!

Where's the camera?

Nathan and I had a garage sale in April. We were so excited that we made quite a bit of money to help buy new blinds for our house. We had just gotten our whole house painted, using our tax return, and we refused to put up the nasty mini blinds that were there before. So, with the success of our garage sale we were able to step up into the world of 2" blinds!!

The next week the kids were being cute as ALWAYS and Nathan being the great dad he is said get the camera. "Okay honey, but where is the camera?" After suggesting a hundred places for me to look we decided to think back to the last time we had it. As I flashed through all my memories with the camera the last time came to me. The garage sale!! Nathan had the kids riding their bikes and again being the good dad he is said let's get some pictures of this. I remember taking some GREAT pictures and setting the camera down at the "head" table. My heart sank as I frantically looked through everything that possibly remained from the sale. (One thing you need to know about me is anything that I own is up for sale and I mean anything!) Well, since I basically sold everything I own, hence the reason why we made some money, there was not much to look through. Since other things were taken from my garage sale (yes, I know what you took lady with the short hair and glasses that had your friend come over to distract me) we came to the conclusion that it was now in the hands of a garage sale thief. Now, I really don't like to jump to conclusions but the writing is all over the wall.

I ran to the computer to make sure that I had downloaded pictures recently. Our trip to San Fran in March was on there so I was relieved I had been a good girl and downloaded. I will put up some pics of our trip later. As I am organizing all the pictures tonight to make albumns for the kids, I go to retrieve the awesome pictures of Baylie's fabulous princess party that I threw for her 4th birthday. Wait, where are the pictures? You guessed it in my camera!!! Which is being enjoyed by a new family!! So, I promise I am a good mom and celebrate my child's birthday I just have NOTHING to prove it!! Although, I do have some great friends that care about my children and brought cameras to the party. Does anyone have any record of the nice party I threw Baylie? I want to show them to her when she is a teen and says I never did anything nice for her. I need the proof!! So, send them on! Please. :(

There is one happy ending to the story. I was very distressed to tell my parents, who bought me the camera, that it had been stolen. They were completely cool about it. I keep forgetting that I am an adult now and things I would have heard 10 years ago from my parents like, "you need to pay more attention to your things", etc. are now kept to themselves. It did help that my dad had his camera stolen from him a few months ago so, what could he say! Well, since they were struggling on what to get Nathan for his 30th birthday an opportunity for a great gift appeared and they jumped on it. So, I am very happy to say that we now have a new upgraded model of our old camera that we absolutely LOVE, and we were able to still use the garage sale money for our blinds! Thanks Mom and Dad! Now, I can have covered windows and share pictures with you all of Nathan playing his new Wii, yes I said Wii that he got from his parents! How cool is that! Man, if these are the kind of gifts you get when your 30 then bring it on!!!
