Where is the SNOW?????????

This year has been a total letdown with the snow. I was really looking forward to the snow this year and nothing. The WEST coast gets it and that is rare. We at least get a little bit and nothing this year except inches and inches of rain. It has probably rained everyday for two weeks. IT'S RIDICULOUS.

Turkey Bowl

Today my dad, noah, zane, and me went to the Turkey Bowl. The Turkey Bowl is something that the two wards in the church building do. We all get together and play football (two hand touch sometimes). Last year it was really fun because the smaller peoples got the ball more. This time wasn't as fun. Whoever was the quarter-back passed to basically his own ward more and our QB was the other ward. It was still fun though. We just got back and are very sore from running for about two hours straight. Can't wait till next year!

Paintball

Yesterday, Uncle Lincoln, Justin, Chancy, Halley, Ryan, McKay, Ceci, my dad, and I all went paintballing. It was really fun. The only downside to it is that when (not if) you get hit, it hurts. After the game was over, I was a proud owner of 4 or more welts. Everybody was amazed by one of mine until McKay stole the spotlight from me :). His dad had told him he had 10 seconds to run until he got shot. McKay took off running and 10 seconds later (counting fast), he got shot and was a proud owner of a welt that almost broke his skin with 2 or 3 layers. It was a really fun day though and it has encouraged me to want to play more!

Brisingr

I just finished reading the third book in the Inheritance Cycle and 11:30 at night. I got the book yesterday afternoon and haven't really put it down yet. Last night I read myself to sleep. I've been reading non stop and finished the 748 page book. I waited for a week to get the book since it came out and was relieved to see it come through the mail. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the fourth (the final) book to come out! Well night, if my mom reads at what time I posted this on a school night, she'll skin me alive!

Sailing

Last Saturday, I went sailing. An old bishop in our ward asked if the teachers would want to be a crew for his boat. He was invited to enter into a sailboat race to dedicate a new wharf. It was tons of fun. I got a little nervous when the boat tilts, but with time, I'm sure I'll get used to it. Tomorrow, since there is no school (Professional Day), he asked if we wanted to go sailing again. We of course said yes. Soooooo, tomorrow, if the wind is good and I can get a ride, I'll be sailing for fun. He also said that there are weekly sailboat races and we might start doing those.

How the year is goin

The 4 weeks I have been in school has been pretty fun. I've met a lot of new friends and regained friends (people who weren't in any of my classes last year.) I haven't had a lot of homework. Out of my seven classes, only three really give homework. They are English, Geometry, and Biology. English is about two to three times a week, Geometry is everyday including weekends, and Biology is about two to three times a week. Geometry takes the longest, but it's not that bad. I've also been helping Grandpa and that's been a lot of fun. Even though the year so far is fun, I have to agree with Aunt Lora, I can't wait till the summer!

Seminary

On Monday, I started SEMINARY! I have to get up a 5 in the morning. Let me tell you, I am extremely tired during the day. I nap on the bus and I almost fell asleep in seminary. Of course, my dad caught me, and I told him I didn't mean to. It's going pretty well and the same with school. I've already made some new friends. But looking forward to the end of the year. Only 174 more days left of school!!!! Yay!!!!

Update on HIGH SCHOOL!

Today was my first day of school which means first day of high school. It went very well. I was very surprised that I did not get lost at all. I had my handy dandy map with me the whole time. It was really nice because they let you carry around a back pack and you don't have to use your lockers. Not as many of my friends as I would like are in my classes. I'm glad thought that there are only a few smart aleks and butts in my classes. By the end of the school day I am exhausted, I'm not used to having to wake up at 5:30 in the morning (starting Monday 5:00). On Monday I start early morning seminary. Well I'm going to go so I can try to take a nap!!!

School

On Wednesday I start 9th grade and in Maryland that's your freshman year in high school! I'm sort of nervous of the change. I'm mostly nervous of getting lost. I went to an open house today and got my schedule and went around to all of my classes. Hopefully that's enough not to get lost. I hope no Juniors of Seniors pick on me! I'll post the first day of school for ya on Wednesday.

Boy oh Boy oh Boy!!!

With the money I got from Aunt Tina and getting from Grandpa I got something brand new. I got a 22" widesceen computer monitor. It is so cool. Grandpa got it for me so I could work it off the rest of the way.

A Couple Things

I just thought I would let you guys know what I've been doing this past week.

1. I helped Aunt Tina paint part of the townehouse. It was fun because I spent a lot of time with them and slept over for 5 nights. Chancy, McKay and I all had fun (I THINK!!!!)

2. I've been helping Grandpa with his buisness. I help him drill endplates for his cell. Though it is a little boring, I'm just glad I can help and he doesn't have to worry about the drilling.

3. Last night my dad, my dad's friend and I went to an IMAX theater that was about 2 hours away. We had decided to watch "The Dark Night." It was quite an experience. The whole theater was shaking with sound and it was intense and a little disturbing. Watching a 6-story screen Batman movie is pretty cool and worth the drive. I can't wait till it comes out on DVD!!!

4. Today we rearranged our family room so it would be more divided into seminary and living space. It looks a whole lot different than the old way.

5. Also today I went to my mom's "BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY." I had decided not to swim. We got there and Zane, Noah, and Stevie all hoped in. My dad and I walked toward the deep end of the pool just talking. I then looked over just in time to see Stevie jump into the water via the diving board. Now Stevie can't swim very well so we were all worried. Stevie just jumped off without a second thought and surfaced. She started to swim and then went under. At that point I had jumped in the pool with all my clothes on and my cell phone. I got her and with difficulty swam to the side. It's not easy swimming while someone is pushing you down and you're wearing jeans and tennis shoes. Well we made it to the side and my mom told me to go home and get my swimsuit and my dad to get floaties. That was very scary for me. I had never in real life had to do that.

EFY

I had an awesome week at EFY. I felt the spirit a lot there. I'm definitley going to look forward to going next year. It was really cool because they asked me to play the piano in front of the classes and atleast 420 people. The first and the last times were ok but the middle times were not so hot. Oh well, atleast everybody encouraged me and recongnized me and didn't make fun of me!!! CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!!!!

Birthday Items

Image Here are the Birthday items I recieved. I have enjoyed them all a ton. Oh, I also got a camera and a card from Grandma and Gramps. Thankyou both!!!

Birthday!!!

Today is my birthday. I couldn't get to sleep until about 3 o'clock this morning. When I woke up, I woke up my parents. They quickly wrapped my presents and then I opened them. I got Oblivion (videogame), some flip-flops, 2 books, and a card saying "YOU ARE ENTITLED TO A CAMERA!!!!" I was excited after that. My mom and I went to Target and got me a camera. It is a Kodak that was origianally $180. It was on Clearance though so it was about $118. Then since it was the last camera and it was on display we got a 30% discount that brought it down to about $80. I was so lucky!!! It is a really cool camera. I took pictures today and realized a mistake I made. I took 10mp pictures which is way to high for this sight. I'll try to post some that are lower mp's.

Washington D.C.

Today my family and Grandma and Grandpa went to D.C. We had a really good time. We left at about 11 o'clock. We rode the metro up to the Mall (a big park). We went to the National Air and Space Museum first. It was really cool. There were a lot of hands on things there. We ate lunch at the food court there as well. I have to tell you it was EXPENSIVE!!!!! After lunch we visited the second floor and had a pleasant surprise. We met two senior missonaries from our church that were from Spanish Fork UT (or something like that, you'll have to the grandparents or my mom to give you the details.) This couple also knew somebody that grandma, grandpa, and my mom knew (you'll also have to ask them). After that museum we went to the Indian History. It was really boring. I liked the Air and Space Museum a lot better. It was really fun today and especially to see Grandma and Grandpa's reaction to the metro.

Sorry!!!

I've had a few comments on the previous post asking what the dermatologist was for. That is a really good question. It could've been anything and I was not thinking straight enough to put the reason down. Ok, the reason was for warts. I had one on my big toe, Ceci had one on her thumb, and Stevie had 6 on two toes.

I'M SO EXCITED. TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing But Trouble

Today, my dad and I were finishing up half of the banister. After today there should have been only the stairs left. We continued working well past dark. My dad had me put up some halogen lights and we could then see. We were finishing one of the last pieces needed when, DISASTER STRUCK!!!!! My dad was pushing the wood throught the blade on the table saw. We got to the end of the cut and since the discarded piece was cut little, it caught on the blade and flew up. While it did this, my dad's hand was forced onto the blade. He was very lucky. What should have been half tip of his finger gone, he got a little gash on his index finger. His finger nail was almost cracked to the bottom and it was bleeding around the nail and by the cut (gushing at first). I ran inside the house to get my mom, and having a mother's instince, she new what had happened when I said "MOM!!!" She went up stairs and we saw my dad washing it with water, wincing in pain. She told him to stop and she applied pressure to the area. He didn't like that at all. He felt nauseated and felt like he was going to pass out. We had him sit down and put his head by his knees. Of course he refused to stay in that position. He said that he would rather lay on the floor with his feet elevated. That left me to put all the stuff away. I asked Grandpa if he would help and he shook his head. After we got everything put away, we both went to see my dad. He was acting and talking in a normal voice so I took that as a good sign. My mom wrapped it in a bandage and now he's on the computer planing the trip up to D.C. tomorrow. This is not at all exciting but Stevie, Ceci, and I went to the dermatologist. I used liquid nitrogen and the girls used some other stuff. I've now tried both ways and the liquid nitrogen is so much easier. I would reccomend that anyday. Well that's all that happened today. Not much excitement ;).

My Hair

Well as the Stevens and the Grandparents, as well as the Bainter Family knows.....

I GOT MY HAIR CUT!!!!!! It is really short because the hair stylist misunderstood us or something. I had to get it cut above my ears and shoulders for EFY. While I was in the chair, I was thinking, is this ever going to end?? She just kept cutting and cutting and cutting. Oh well, I hope it grows out more before school starts!!!

P.S. I'll try to get a picture in!!

Hooray for Noah!!!

Image I don't know if you can tell, but this is what I've been living with. This is my sunburn that is peeling. It is like that all over my back and shoulders. To make it even worse it itches constantly. I woke up this morning to find that I was surrounded by the peelings of my back. I was pretty disgusted. Noah has been nice because when I ask him to peel my back he sighs, drops what he is doing, and starts rubbing away (rubbing is faster the picking). I am so grateful that he does it cause it relieves the itching.

More Stuff

Today after church I had a Scoutmaster Review and a Board of Review. I passed both of them so now I can get my STAR. It is 2 ranks away from EAGLE. I have all the merit badges for LIFE, so in 6 months I'll be able to get LIFE. Then all I need is 9 more merit badges, a big service project and 6 months I could be an EAGLE. YAY!!!

OH BOY!!!!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S ONLY 6 MORE DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTH DAY!!!!! HOORAY!!! 14 HERE I COME!!!

A Whole Bunch of Stuff!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been on for awhile so there is a lot for me to post.

First, SCOUT CAMP. I earned 6 merit badges and my dad came halfway through the week. I was elected Senior Patrol Leader for the whole stake. I was basically in charge of 86 people including myself. Brother Franklin (the Scoutmaster of the whole stake) and a bishop of another ward gave me a new scout book and cover out of appreciation.

Second, THE BEACH. My family, the Stevens, and the Youngs, went out to Ocean City for a couple days. My family came home early because my mom made a mistake with the nights and we were all to sunburned to stay. My back is still hurting because we used some spray-on sunscreen that didn't work. On our way home we stopped and watch Walle. It was a really good movie. Then we went to Wal-Mart and got some Solarcaine and Vantage Point which is another really good movie. We got home and un-packed and fell asleep.

Third, FOURTH OF JULY. We went to one of my dad's friends house for fourth of July. He puts on his very own illegal firework show. It is one of the best firework shows I have ever been to. While we were waiting for dark, a few of us went up-stairs to his home theater. We watched 10,000 B.C. It was a really good movie. Before we went to the guy's house my dad and I were working on rebuilding our banister. He thinks it will look better the way we're building it now then it does currently.

Fouth, TODAY. My dad, my brothers and I were all out cutting and sanding away for our new banister. I'm so glad that my dad is letting me use the tablesaw and belt sander. The belt sander has a definite pull to it and it was making my arm ache after a few pieces of wood. We watched The GamePlan tonight and it is also a really good movie.

Well, I'm tired and I'm going to go to bed so I can get up for church in the morning. GOOD NIGHT!!!!

The Movie

The results are in and the majority goes to "Let Zane Decide!"
DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!

ZANE HAD DECIDED NO!

oh well, you'll have to further talk him into it!!!

NOT AN ALARM AGAIN!!! and other stuff

Last night the Carbon Monoxide low battery alarm went off. The little kids were sleeping downstairs and Noah was the first one up. He started yelling "I smell smoke!!!" So he ran into my room hit my chest to get me up and I was scared it was a fire until I couldn't smell smoke. We walked into our parents' bedroom and they told me to unplug it. I did and it still was beeping really loud. My dad told the little kids to go to their beds to get back to sleep. We finally had to take out the batteries for it to stop beeping. We have a hunch that the outlet it was plugged into wasn't working so it was forced to run on batteries. Oh, and by the way, it happened at 4 or 4:30. What a night. Then we had to get up early for cleaning the church. The rest of the day we were working on finishing our hall and stairs. Finally, I've been packing for Scout Camp for Monday. I HATE PACKING!!! It took me forever and I couldn't find everything, OH WELL.

Stevens and the Doctor (The Doctor is never a good sign!!!)

The Stevens, (Aunt Tina, McKay, and Chancy), came over to our house today to visit. Grandma and Grandpa came over as well. I was sort of disappointed because I had to leave to get a physical, allergy shots, and my second hep A shot. So I had three needles stuck into me today. Me dad had to get a physical, allergy shots, blood taken, and a tetnus shot. FOUR NEEDLES!! Before I went to the doctor we younger people were playing the Wii while Ceci and the older people were talking. After I got home, the kids had broken out the cup stacking mat. My mom and aunt Tina have videos to post on there blogs. I have to say, Grandpa was the funniest of them all. Well I tired at 1:15 A.M. SOOOO.... I'm going to try to get to sleep!!

My Trying of the BANANAS

I tried Grandma's way of the peanut butter, an experiment of strawberry cream cheese, and then Grandpa's way of the cream and nutella. Out of all of them, Grandpa's was first, the experiment was second, and sorry Grandma, your way was third. You all should really try all of the delicious ways for bananas (AS LONG AS YOU'RE NOT ALLERGIC!!! MOM)

HOT HOT HOT!!!!!

I have now been dreading to go outside this week. The temperature and humidity are just too much for me!!! I can't concentrate with the real feel temperature about 106 degrees. The pool is now ready but my dad says we can't swim in it because it is too hot and he doesn't want us to get HEAT STROKE!!!! Thing are going well for the summer so far. I don't think I've realized that school is out yet. I bet one of these days I'll be getting ready for school. That would be embarassing!!!

ImageWe found a burrow of rabbits in our grove of trees today. It was really cool, and my mom said she wanted to fill the hole with something to kill them. When I told this to Grandma and Grandpa, They laughed and said she'd been raised on a farm.
Image
ImageThis is me preparing for my first shave with a razor. I think I prefer to do this than the electrical shavers. I didn't get razor burns and I got a nice close shave. I cut myself on the chin but nothing serious :).

Well, our toilet hadn't been working for awhile. We tried snaking it and it didn't help at all, although we found some rupulsing things in the pipe! So, one day Grandpa tells my dad he needs to get Zane or Noah to stick their hand down the toilet to see if anything was down there. My dad agreed and decided to pay whoever did it. I think they both did it but there is only Zane's pictures. Well, they stuck their hand down and guess what!!! They found a flosser that was clogging the toilet for months on end. Now our toilet is working perfectly. And the funny part is, they did it while the piano tuner while the piano tuner was over. They had vasaline all over their arms and they couldn't stop washing them!

PHILADELPHIA!!!

Image
This is me at the Philadelphia Art Museum. This is were Rocky Balboa ran up the steps in the movie. I'm standing next to the statue of Rocky Balboa.

This is me at the
Image
Seaport Museum. I'm in a submarine lying on a crew members cot. I hit my head on the chain you see by my head. I was rubbing my head when a guy came in and said, "You hurt your head because you weren't supposed to be on the beds." He didn't get mad at me or anything though. The sub had really tight quarters and I don't think I could had survived like that for weeks on end.

Image
Here I'm on a camel. I know it looks cool, but it is very, very uncomfortable. It was sort of cool riding a camel though. It's at the oldest zoo in the country, Philadelphia Zoo. The zoo also had a helium balloon ride, but they shut it down, because it was so windy, right as we got there. I was sort of disappointed.

Image
Now I'm on the boat at the Seaport Museum. It was a lot more spacious than the sub. I'm standing next to a gigantic gun used who knows when. My dad and I didn't get to explore all of it since we only had about fifteen minutes. What a bummer!!!
The Philadelphia trip was a really cool experience. I got to see a lot of history along with Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Mutter Museum, and the Franklin Institute. My favorite part of the trip was probably the Odd Couple Play. It was hilarious. At the end of the trip both of us were exhausted. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we left on 17th and got back on the 19th.
