Greetings! My name is Bruce Cooper and I live in the city of Halifax, in the province of Nova Scotia (right on the Atlantic ocean seacoast), in Canada. My wife’s name Is Peggy and together we raised five children (the last two were fraternal twins), who are all grown up now. We also have been gifted with 7 wonderful grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. I served 35 years in the Canadian Armed Forces (32 years Regular Force and 3 years full time with the Reserves). I initially served three years with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN), then approximately 10 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and the remaining approximately 22 years with the Canadian Army. After retiring from the Regular Forces and later as a Class C (full-time) Reserve Commissioned Officer, I worked another 15+ years in private industry as an Information Technology (IT) Network Administrator and a Certified Google Apps Deployment Specialist. I currently am thankfully and happily retired.

I became a Christian in my mid-twenties, and like many new believers, I was filled with questions, more than I could possibly count. One of the main purposes of this blog is to address many of those questions I once had, while also offering dedicated studies grounded in the whole counsel of God’s Holy Word, written with the average Christian layperson in mind. You’ll find a Christian Resources page, a Defending Your Faith 101 page, and a Podcasts page featuring selected posts, along with a substantial collection of Free PDFs designed for everyday Christians. In addition, the blog contains well over 2,900 posts and several other specialized pages, all freely available, providing documented evidence and follow-up material that strengthen and support the many dimensions of Christian apologetics

Christian Apologetics (Greek: ἀπολογία, “verbal defence, speech in defence”) is a branch of Christian theology that defends Christianity against objections. I am but a common Christian layperson, embracing the essence of faith and trust in God. My Christian Apologetic blog stems from a deep conviction that as Christians, we should comprehensively understand the reasons behind our beliefs. Engaging in the study and contemplative writing on various aspects of Christian Apologetics is my personal endeavour to fortify this conviction.

    I am curious about people who are Christians. would you be kind enough to discuss your beliefs with me?

    ‘I believe that it is through Christ’s atonement for us on the cross that we are saved and that through faith in His work, not my own’

    What exactly do you feel saved from?

      • Thank you. I’ve asked other bloggers to write on what worship means them. What verse/ chapter/ situation from the Bible signifies worship to you? How do you make God a priority in your life, and how do you recognize His presence in your life?

        You can write whatever length (of post)that you are comfortable with.

  10. Thank you Bruce. Poetry is a “shorthand form of communicating ” that can be artfully colored to make it more attractive. This is what I do fluently as the Lord has enabled me. But poetry is not my main written expression as a follower of the Shepherd. But it’s easier to share with “a few”.

    Before saying a thing I’d like to thank God for b ringing men and women who are shaping building one another for the kingdom.

    Brethren, in my group, we are on Hebrews 9; as we start this coming Thursday, Jan 10, 2019 I saw the past i.e Tabernacle system. This is not known to many of us, but would like to learn more especially about: Outer and Inner Courts. On top of that help know who was allowed in Outer Court and who was allowed in Inner Court. About Holy and Most Holy Places I’ve read. I’d as well like to know the meaning of both of the terms because the picture shows me a fence, so it is hard to see the Outer and the Inner

  15. Found your blog a short while ago + have benefitted from your direct writing style; very engaging. I’m keen to start going through the many many resources you have listed as I’m always on the lookout for good material to share with our pastor + leaders in our fellowship. I operate a book table ministry most weekends and so have a need for up to date book reviews by believers of worthwhile books.

      • Hey Bruce, I’ve been searching high and low to see where Bill says there are nine in the trinity? Can you show me where that is? Thanks. I have a youtube channel exposing this stuff and although I’ve seen many posts saying this…. I have seen nothing confirming this.

      • Hi Sean, well I can see why you were searching high and low, Benny Hinn is the one who actually is quoted as saying nine in the Trinity and that is more of the Manifest Sons of God doctrines being played out and that can get pretty heavy. It really is a can of worms when you get into it. Here is a link that should give you some insight into the depth of the deception that is being played out: https://notunlikelee.wordpress.com You’ll need to do some drilling down at that site to get a good understanding of the complexity involved. Bill Johnson may very well articulate the same doctrine in one of his videos but you’d need the transcripts to be available to quickly verify that or A LOT OF FREE TIME to check all his videos. That link I just gave you will provide you with an abundance of doctrinal errors articulated by Bill Johnson. Hope this helps. Blessings!

It is very puzzling to me that I have previously read the content and wording of this post on a different website as having been authored written by a man of a different name. Yet there is no other attribution for the post you published of this content material to anyone else but your own name. Are you able to give an explanation for this?     • Hi Jessica, thank you for bringing this to my attention. This was posted back in 2018 and now, normally when I post something that is authored by someone else I provide a direct link back to the author and normally only quote a paragraph or two. Back in 2018 I sometimes did repost the whole article, but I no longer do this as it is unfair to the author. Even back in 2018 when I did sometimes repost a complete article I did indicate the author and made sure there was a direct link displayed. Short story is that this was an oversight on my part and if you know who did author it, I will indeed update the post with the author’s name and a direct link. If you don’t have the author’s link handy I will endeavour to find it myself and correct this immediately. Just to let you know, this is not my normal practice, if obtained from an alternate source I do consistently give the author the credit and a direct link preceded by a quoted paragraph or two, which most authors allow and appreciate. Thank you again for letting me know. Blessings!

  23. Bruce,

    I read a reference to IQ and Christian faith. I rejoined Mensa after a 40 year hiatus a year ago and was saddened to see how stridently antagonistic most were to Christianity compared to 40 years ago.

    I suspect that expose to college has had a significant contribution to replacing the religion of youth with the religion of secularism (the worship of man in general and self in particular)

    I keep some free books and videos at this web site for anyone interested.

    • Hi Tim, thank you for commenting. I read the narrative on your home page and I would have a tendency to agree with most of what you state. As a student of history as well as a student of God’s Word, I would agree that there is much today within Christendom that ought not to be so. What with the changes that are taking place, it may not be long before we once again worship and study together in “home” churches and I definitely don’t see that as a bad thing. Relationships with Christian brethren are indeed a reality within “some” denominational churches but I agree that the denominational aspect can also be a hinderance. As time permits I will read more of what you have written. In the interim I thank you for touching base with me and invite you at any time to add your thoughts to any of my posts.   29. Good Sunday morning to you Bruce, my brother. I have been enjoying your blog to my email. Your bio reveals that you have served our country in immeasurable ways for many years and continue to serve the wider world communities with often profound Christian insight.
    Thank you.
    This morning while engaged with considering ways to thank , pray for and support our financial/bookkeepers it brought me to recall how as a 25 year old evangelist a parish bookkeeper set up a bank account for me to pursue academic Theological studies.

    The vision was for anyone to freely give over and above their tithing. It was made known to other evangelical church communities. The balance grew from initially $20 to $15000.00 within three weeks of anonymous giving. This account provided sustainability for me and my family for over a three year period while attending university. We are blessed! Upon completion of a Theological degree I was led to turn over this account still brimming with sufficient funds to another student seeking Theological studies.

    Our Lord is good. Blessing and Grace be upon you znd your ministry.

  31. for your “Life span of kings of Judah”- It seemed you calculated solely based on their age they start the reign and for how long they reigned- and then they would just drop dead- BUT could it be they just delivered then (at this given time) the reign to their son??? And continued living???

    • Hi Eric, It’s been a while since I wrote that post and I would have to go back and check for you, but as I recall, I’m pretty sure that in each case it indicated that the individual kings of Judah died on a specific year. If I get a chance I will check it tomorrow and get back to you.

      I took a quick look, the vast majority of the Kings of Judah reigned until they literally died. I’m saying vast majority because I haven’t literally gone back and checked each one, but that was from my recollection, what transpired. Is it possible that they “gave” their kingdom to their son? Yes, possible, but once again, I would have to go back and literally check each one. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to do that right now, but I will at a later date, so I can set that legitimate question aside as answered. Thank you for raising that question, the answer would be worth while to know! Blessings!
