In 2011, a limited run of Beats Detox Pro headphones were produced with "Dr. Dre Detox" silkscreened onto the top of the headband to celebrate the oft-delayed release of Dr. Dre's album Detox , they have been discontinued in 2022

They are designed for strong bass performance. It uses passive noise cancellation which relies on the heavy earcups, not electronics, to isolate the listener's ears from exterior noise. As a result, it requires no batteries or secondary power source. The earcup pads can be removed and are washable.

The Beats Pro headphones have been compared to Apple's AirPods Max, though the latter is wireless and features active noise-cancelling functionality.
