Back to Blogging

Well, we just got settled in Seattle, so I suppose it's time to get back to blogging.
Since we live a ways away now it would be nice to be able to keep up with family and friends, so I'll do my best at keeping this up to date.
More to come on our new life in Seattle!

Home Sweet Home

This is Matt and Halle on there way up to our apartment.

This is our front door.

This is our kitchen. I am going to be a Trend Setter for putting the outside freezer inside the kitchen. So when you see that in the next Parade of Homes know that I started it. (Jena...I am sure you're dying right now!) I know it's super WT, but I can't live without it.

This is outside the apartments.

This is the park. (Halle in the bottom left corner.) She meets lot of "friends" here.

This is driving into the complex.

This is the pool area. We spent a lot of time here before it closed for the winter.

Nothing too special, but definitely livable. So far we have really enjoyed it here. The people are really nice, the weather has been about the same as home, everything is super close, and last the best of all...MATT HAS A JOB HERE!
There are a couple of things that are different here than Utah. For instance...

•People NEVER drive the speed limit. They drive at lease 5 under. It drives me nuts. They act like they have nowhere to be.

•People look at you like you're crazy when you ask for a side of mayo to make fry sauce. (Taylor you would never survive here.)

•Milk is over $3.50 a gallon.

•On a good day we might have 120 people at church.

•Our Bishop thinks it's OK to call people out of the congregation to give a five minute talk on the spot.

•They don't have Grandma's Sycamore Bread.

•We haven't found a good place to buy Donuts yet. (Probably a good thing.)

•They don't give you a Frosty with the kids meals at Wendy's. That was my favorite part of the meals.

•Matt is embarrassed to tell anyone he drives a Honda and not a Super Duty Truck.

•We are labeled "City Slicker's" and we came from Kaysville Utah.

•Cameo is not a fashion accessory, it is a MUST HAVE.

•They don't have a Taggarts, Mandarin, El Matador, or even a Chilli's. Don't worry...we are still as fat as when we left.

Other than that we are loving it here.

She's a Big Kid Now

Halle's 1st Day of Preschool

Halle couldn't wait to go to school because she wanted to be BIG just like her best friend/cousin CADE.  She loves you Cade and wants to be just like you.  She had a great 1st day at school.  When I took her in she wasted no time and ran right over to her new friend.  The teacher said "Halle you need to give your mom a hug good bye."  Halle..."No, I'm OK."  When I picked her up she asked me if I could just drop her off next time and not go in with her.  Little stinker.

If anyone knows why my pictures aren't turning will you please tell me.

Flaming Gorge

Our yearly family and friends ski trip to the Gorge was another success!

Papa brought lots of books to read, and the only one he can con into reading them with him is Halle.  She really doesn't care what she's doing as long as she is with a friend.

Image

Halle kept using the pylon as her microphone.  She was singing and dancing all over the place.  It was so CUTE.  She even convinced Papa to join in as her backup.

Image

Poor Halle was so sick when we were there. About half way through she started getting better and then I got it. It was a rough summer for us when it came to being sick. We had all sorts of crap this year. She was a really good sport considering how sick she was.

We did get some cliff jumping in.  We're the dots on top of the rock.

Lot's of tubing!

Dad was giving the girls the Sky Ski instructions, and then sent me out there to show them how it's done. :) Hahahahahahah!

This is the view we get to look at.  Beautiful!

This was the day we got there.  Halle felt like CRAP!

This year we did a Hawaiian themed dinner.  It turned out so yummy and the decorations were so cute.  Yes I know we're camping and yes we decorate.  So much fun!

Dad even kissed everyone on both cheeks as they entered the "Dinning Area".  I'm sure it made some people a little uncomfortable, but it was hilarious to watch people reactions.
We even had lime slush for a Fancy drink.  Now hows that for some "Hilton" camping?

Matt wasn't able to come on any trips this year because of the whole JOB thing.  It was a real bummer not having him there.  Everyone really missed him.  He was a super champ to let Halle and I go.  He knows that those are my favorite trips, and didn't want us to miss out.  LOVE HIM!  He could not be any better to me.

We also went to Massacre Rocks for our annual family ski trip.  It was amazing this year.  At least the days I was there, and then it got really windy.  But I didn't take ONE single picture. Which in return is one less blog entree that I have to catch up on.

Here's a Blast from the Past!

Halle Turned 3 (On June 19th, 2010)

This year for Halle's birthday she wanted a Piggy Party so that's what she got.  Halle had been invited to a couple other birthday parties through out the year, and that's all she ever talked about is when she could have her "own" party.  I originally wasn't going to throw the whole big kid party, but she had such a cute little group of friends how could I resist.
It actually turned out really cute.  We ate on the floor like "pigs".  We played lots of "pig" games.  And even had some rather delicious "pig" cake.

From Matt and I, she got a lawn mower.  She LOVED mowing the lawn with Matt.

She spent her birthday with some of her very best friends this year.
Cade Russell, Kate Dodenbier, Kylie Uboldi, Connor Wallace, Luke Jolley, Avery Fisher, Amelia Guest, Tia Garr, Ivan Vandrimnlen, Tate Wallwork, Addie Forbes, Papa, Nana, Grandpa B, Jena, and Corinne.
She also had a couple great friends that couldn't make it.

(And YES, I can't figure out why none of my Pictures turned the right way!)

Kaysville to Billings - Slick to Hick and Loving it!

Yes...It's true I am returning to the blogging world. We have been a little busy the last little while, to say the least. The BEST news of all is Matt has a JOB! I can't tell you how excited we are. We are taking a little step back to start out our adventure, but hopefully it will pay off in the future.

Things all happened pretty fast, so we rented out our house and took off up to Montana. We packed up everything on a Thursday, drove up on Friday morning, and had everything out of the Uhaul by Friday night, and everything unpacked by Saturday with time still left to swim.

I have the best parents in the whole world! They were willing to take a weekend to help Matt and I drive up. We had three cars and one very large Uhaul. We all drove separately, but with the assistance of the two way radio's we were still able to make smart-alec remarks about moving to Montana. I don't know how we could have ever done it all by ourselves. Not only did they help with the packing, driving, and unpacking they were even there to help me with my miner meltdowns throughout the unpacking process. I am not going to lie, at first I really struggled with the amount of closet and storage space we have now, and the fact that I have to make my own ice! (Who does that anymore?) No worries, I really have adapted quite quickly, and I am doing just fine now.

Matt has been really busy since we've been here, but he is loving the job!
A very special thanks to everyone who helped us during this time! Mom and Dad for helping us pack, move, unpack, and for letting us store all of our CRAP at your house. Jana Dodenbier and Amy Uboldi for your mad cleaning skills. Grandma B for taking Halle for us all day Thursday, so that we could pack. Scott for helping Matt pack the Uhaul. Jena and Rudy for throwing a killer going away party. And everyone else who supported us in this move. We love you guys!

Here are a couple pictures of our caravan. I need to get the other ones from my parents.

Here is Matt and Halle at the pool. (Heaven for bid I get off my fat butt to get a better picture.) The pool is now closed for the year, so you'll have to wait until next year for some better pictures.

MORE TO COME! But I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you because I really don't have a very good track record. I will try and take some pictures of the apartment and the complex so you can get a better idea of where we live.
