This week: Joint operations led to the arrest of 3 suspects in separate incidents for trespassing, possession of illegal wildlife products, and illegal substances // Rangers and partners conducted elephant conflict mitigation, preventing or pushing back elephants in multiple incidents before crop raids and fence crossings // Fence attendants responded to fence incursions, repairing damaged posts, gates, and wires // Rangers responded to several crop raids // Joint teams searched for and safely reunited a missing community member.

12–18 January 2026
This week: Joint operations led to the arrest of 10 suspects in 4 incidents for illegal activities, including sandalwood, wildlife products, illegal tree cutting, and possession of bushmeat // Rangers and fence teams responded to multiple elephant incidents along the crop protection fence, preventing crossings, pushing elephants away from settlements and farms, and completing repairs // Rangers prevented several elephant crop raids and responded to incidents involving damage to fences and boreholes // Rangers recovered one elephant tusk weighing 6.6 kg handed in by a community member // Joint teams halted unauthorised fencing and grazing activities, with follow-up enforcement ongoing // Rangers and partners treated and monitored a sick buffalo calf // Rangers assisted the community in rescuing livestock and locating and reuniting a missing community member.

This week: Joint operation recovered suspected illegal sandalwood, investigations ongoing // Joint intelligence-led operation led to the arrest of 2 suspects with python skins // Rangers responded to and managed multiple elephant incidents including crop raids, fence breaches, and elephants near settlements, with fence attendants carrying out repairs in several locations // Rangers and drone units prevented numerous elephant crop raids and crossings of the crop protection fence // Rangers responded to reports of elephant damage to community infrastructure including schools // Rangers responded to a poisoning incident with cross-border coordination and investigations ongoing // Rangers located 2 giraffe carcasses in separate incidents, investigations ongoing // Rangers responded to a report of a zebra entangled in a snare; the animal was later confirmed free and mobile // Rangers assisted community members in locating lost livestock and a missing herder // Rangers responded to reports of livestock injured by wildlife // Rangers continued routine patrols and monitoring following reports of unauthorized machinery access, with no illegal activity confirmed

This week: Joint operations led to the arrest of 2 suspects in separate incidents, including 1 with a live pangolin and 1 with elephant ivory weighing 13.5kg // Rangers recovered 45 newly set snares during an intelligence-led operation // Rangers and partners responded to reports of hippos near settlements and successfully pushed them back to national park // Rangers responded to multiple incidents of elephants crossing or attempting to cross the crop protection fence, made repairs, and prevented crop raids in several instances // Rangers and drone units pushed elephants away from farms and settlements in multiple incidents //  Rangers intercepted illegal farm clearing activities and turned back machinery // Rangers monitored a sick elephant, with veterinary teams responding; the elephant later died and a postmortem was conducted // Rangers responded to a buffalo encounter in which a ranger sustained an injury and was attended to.
