T&C Cooking Adventures

Image
Image
So I have not blogged for almost a year but this was too good not to. I like to try new adventurous recipes with a good friend of mine Tiff. A couple of weeks ago we did Butter Beer from Harry Potter it turned out so fun but this one takes the cake. I saw a fun fattening recipe on food network where you put a pie in the middle of a cake. It was fairly easy, we took a apple caramel pie and put it in the middle of a spice cake like they did on the show, cooked it and put cream cheese frosting on it. WOW was it good! The girls loved it. Then when we were in my favorite corner store Wal-mart we thought hey what would happen if we got a strawberry cake with a lemon pie and cream cheese frosting. Well the flavor was great- a little sweet and sour is perfect but I next time I will not put so much batter on the top.

Our Dog Max

Image
Max was a 12 week old puppy when Dan called me and said "can I have a dog?". I giggled at this because I have brought so many dogs home in our short marriage. "Of course!" Dan was working spraying homes for bugs when he bent down to play with the puppy. He was told the family could not keep him any more, so Dan picked him up, gave him a name and a new home. We had just shortly started playing the game flyball when Max came along, so started a life long training and a new love for him the ball.
He was an eager learner and always did his best. He started out so strong in flyball he was a great start dog that anyone could run. He helped train lots of new handlers young and old. I started to train him in agility but that did not go far for his love was for the ball. He loved the water and to play in the back yard with the kids. He was relentless and persistent when the kids did not want to toss the ball any more he would fallow them and drop it at their feet when ever they would stop. They would hide in the play house and he would find some way to get the ball in the house, the window or though the front door. Alway soft so not to scare them when bringing the ball back dropping it then backing up so they could pick it up. 10 years later he started to slow up in flyball but still barking till his turn, never giving up he ran his hart out. We will miss our family friend and he will always be remembered.

My old boy Toby

So I feel inclined to tell you all what has been going on with my little dog Toby. In his old age he has been losing his eye sight so about 3 weeks ago he ran into the side of a open door and damaged his right eye. I took him to the vet and was told that he had glaucoma, was prescribed eye drops and sent on our way with the instructions that if it got worse to bring him back in. Well Tuesday his eye got very large and inflamed so I took him in the doctor was out of town and had a "sub" well she gave me some more drops but I did not trust her judgment in the back of my mind I wanted an different opinion, someone i knew and trusted. So I sent a photo to Casey (Andrea's new husband) and he said "it looks really bad." I panicked and asked Casey if I could bring him down to Vegas to have him look closer into it. Well Toby just got out of surgery and is doing well. The pressure in is eye was bad enough that it did irreparable damage. After doing blood work and making sure my 12 year old would make it though we made the decision to have his eye removed. Thanks to Casey and Andrea for being there for me Andrea came to the appointment with me and sat through the tears. Casey was reassuring and very confident in the decision that was made. He was swift to call me and tell me all is good, Andrea and him are even going to keep my boy till Sat. to make sure we have no complications.
All is good and I hope to have Toby a few more years.

Small Things Can Be Big

I keep telling people that very thing is the same and nothing new is going on. Well small things to me but maybe big in the grand skem of things. I watched yet another birthday of one of my daycare girls go by. She has been with our family for almost 3 years she is growing in to such a little lady. Those who know me know that I am a cry baby and Ashley is like one of mine. It makes me look at all my kids and realize that they are getting so so big. I made a butterfly cake and the girls got her ZuZu pet and all the daycare sang Happy Birthday to her. She tried to act like she was not on the top of the world but she loved it.ImageImage
Fathers day came and went the girls where so excited to give gifts to the daddy. He even acted excited when Jaylee gave him Mints LOL it was so cute. Dan was the perfect dad that day he even went to a kid movie with us. He is loving caring and so passionate with me and the kids. I could not have asked for a better husband.ImageImage

Fathers Day for Papa Jae

So my dad has had this dream for ever that his grand kids would be able to play in his beached boat. 7 years ago he had a hole dug and he sunk this large boat that was my grandfathers in the ground in hopes that he would turn into a play ground for his grand kids. Well it never got any farther than that. So us kids decided to make it happen for fathers day. C.J. got the rock coming and us girls got to cleaning even the grandkids helped (a little). C.J. even made a zip line from the bow of the boat to the ground it looks great and brought my dad to tears. Love you dad!!!

Update !!!!

So I have been prompted in many ways to update my blog so here it is. I love being a mother its so fun and rewarding. I have recently upgraded my daycare to a family group which means that I can now have 16 kids in my home with a employee. I have hired Josie to come work for me the days I have more than 8 daycare kids. Dan is so great he has been there to support me in this decision the whole time. I had to go to the city for a conditional permit to get the license is was nerve racking but its done.
The Zoee and Jaylee have been out of school now for about 2 weeks an they are already board. I have them is a class that runs Monday-Wednesday 12:00-3:30 at the rec-center, they look forward to it every day.
Image Dan has a new love in life it is a Harly Davidson V-Rod Motorcycle. Last week he took a motorcycle class that was 4 hours Thurs.- Fri. and all day Sat.- Sunday. We missed him but it was worth it knowing that he feels better and is a safer driver because of it. He also had a lot of fun with the class.Image He is riding a different bike in this photo for the class this next one is a pic of the class more girls than boys but we all know that Dan is use to that.
Dani will be one years old next month. This year has just flown away she is still doing a army crawlImage but is pulling herself up next to furniture, and Sunday went up two stairs.
She is even getting some hair. Here is photo of Jaylee and her Kindergarten graduation she did so great we are so proud of her. She is looking forward to going to 1st grade next school year. Image
