Snow day

There was literally ZERO snow on the ground when I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and saw this.
Image
CrAzY right? I couldn't believe how much snow there was!

Updates
  • My mom and Lexi come into town on Thursday or Friday this week!!
  • I go into the schools on Thursday. The 4th graders are so much bigger compared to my baby second graders! At least the 4th graders will remember my name. hopefully. Mrs. Gumdrop was nice and all, but...
  • James and I saw the movie Just Go With It. It was cute!
  • We also went to Tucanos Monday. And checked out the new Provo Beach Resort. It is cool. Anyone up for a double date on miniature crochet?
  • All my midterms are DONE. Just 3 more days of student until 4 weeks of being teacher.
  • Soccer try outs end at midnight tonight. James still has to try out crazy right? It's about 6 hours of practice for 3 days in a row (usually in 3 hour blocks). Needless to say I'm happy they're done.

This is a picture from our Tucanos date. I had just given James a haircut a few hours prior. Some of my best work, if I do say so myself :)

Weekend in Vegas!!

Last Friday at about 4 pm I loaded into a TINY car with 4 large soccer boys. You see, this particular weekend they had a soccer tournament in Las Vegas. Here are some highlights.
    Image
  • James was getting a little bit harassed during one game. His mom stood up, ran onto the field, and screamed "Number 99 you are.... naughty!" haha One of the best moments of my soccer watching career.
  • I learned WAY more than I wanted to know about boys in the few hour trip from Provo to Vegas. I had my non-brother life for the last 22 years filled up 22 years worth of brotherness.
  • James played blackjack for the first time. He lost $15! But had a good time.
  • I saw the sun for the first time in months!
  • We had some quality time with some of J's family members and no time at all with others. The trip was so quick!
  • James and I stayed at his dad's house.... with 7 other soccer boys. I was serious about the brother fix.
  • I think James got the record for the most red cards in the entire tournament.
Let me tell you the red card story. If you haven't noticed, James is a rather large boy. It is not shocking for him to receive a card or 2 during a game. He looks bigger and like the one who would inflict pain on others and sometimes that is the case, but sometimes it isn't. In the second game of the day he received 2 yellow cards, so a soft red. Kicked out of the game and the next game of the day. In game number 4, literally 2 minutes into the game, James decides that he is goalie and sticks up his hand to block a goal. His hand!! Hello he's supposed to be playing soccer! In case anyone is unsure soccer is played with your feet.
Anyways the good news is James didn't miss game number 5. The coaches LIED to the refs and gave them the wrong name, so James could play. I have not seen James that happy in a long time!

Anyways we left late and didn't get into Provo until 4 am! And I had a class at 8 am! This was actually Valentines Day, so needless to say our Valentines Day is this weekend! It should be really fun. I think we are going to go to Tucanos.

This is from L to R J's dad, Sarah (Richard's wife), Richard (James' older brother), J's mom. These are the ONLY pictures I have from the whole trip. Sad right? The only reason I even have these are my in-laws asked me to take them to put up on their facebook :)

22nd Birthday

Honestly... not too eventful... just the way I like it :)

Image

This is what my WHOLE house looked like. James woke me up at 12 AM to show me what he did. Cute right?
Image
He bought a million junior mints, which is one of my favorite candies!! {for some reason we all look better in black and white haha}

Image
Amanda brought cake cookies to 8 am class for everyone to share. Thanks Panda!! {Photo @ 8th grade graduation... for some reason the new facebook won't let me copy pictures, so you have to deal with what I have :) }

James and I went to ZUPAS for lunch. That was really the ONE thing I wanted to do on my birthday day.

Image
Emilee came over for a little....

I decided to skip my night class. Took a shower and was in bed at 5 pm. You got that right people, 5 PM. Woke up at 930 pm did some homework, ate dinner, and watched the biggest looser. Then went back to bed until 7 am. So I essentially wasted my birthday, but I have been so sick and woke up feeling AWESOME. So it was worth it :)

P.S. THANKS for all of the birthday wishes... sorry if I haven't called you back yet. I'm working on it! I had a busy school week this week. :)

MuRDeR MySTeRy @ my house...

A few weeks ago James and I went to the mall, and as tradition we always go into the game store. While we were there I noticed a new section I had never seen before- the murder mystery game section. Instantly I knew I wanted one. Then I discovered the price tag.

Luckily my birthday was coming up and amazon.com is the best for buying games cheaper. $15 and a few days later Lethal Luau murder mystery game was in my hands. Let me introduce you to our cast.

Image
Emilee was a koi farmer. Brandon was a tourist/escaped convict

Image
Whitney was the wife of a billionaire, dead billionaire. Kyle was a surfer dude and business partner to the murderee.
Image
James was a tipsy scuba instructor. I was a super model who was in love with the murdree since high school and had plastic surgery for him to notice me.
Image
Amanda was a hula dancer/ accidental killer of her fiancee. Eric was Chief Wiki-wiki aka Polynesian traditional man.

We started our murder mystery with some dinner. Cafe Rio {did you know you can order online now? How awesome is that?} and smoothies with the cute umbrellas in them!
Image

Then we continued on our murder mystery exploring the characters and guessing who the murderer was. It turned out really well. Everyone guessed different people {I was the ONLY one guessed by 2 different people...and I would tell you if it was me, but that would give away the surprise!} And guess who one the pineapple prize for guessing the murderer....
Image
I did!! I won, how funny is that? What can I say Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors and I love watching Castle. Murder mysteries have always been a favorite of mine! Happy birthday to me! {on Wednesday}

p.s. if anyone wants to borrow my game you are totally welcome to! I know who the murderer is so I can't play again!

NEW craft!

I used to have this GIANT blank WHITE ugly wall in my kitchen. I couldn't figure out what to do with it because it has that power box switch thing in the middle of it, as seen below.
Image
Not anymore!! I craftily hung this beauty so we can easily get to the power box {I hung it with a ribbon and secured with velcro strips}.
Image
Now on to more important things, what is the craft? Hopefully you can see, it's a family tree! A 4 generational family tree to be exact. All of our family names are written on the leaves. The green leaves are male and the blue leaves are female. Adrianne Young gave me this idea.. shout out to her!

Also when I came home today this on my doorstep :)
