King Jack It's time to vote for your favourite bird from the Afternoon Delights of the Spring Parade! Please find the Poll to your right hand side which will close on the 30th of December, Australian time. Phew! Just in time for the hottest part of SUMMER and a POOL PARTY!!!

Anon went stalking last weekend and heard Mini calling from the other side of the Lagoon. Then Anon started calling from this side of the Lagoon - it was very embarrassing. They both believe the Starling WAS really Mini! ... Jack

Sad Story

Image Baino mentioned in comments below a Magpie Family in her backyard. "They are trying to discourage their very noisy and 'time to leave the nest now son' baby . .they're quite aggressive with it but it's persistant and just won't fly away! There will be tears before bedtime"

Image A cue to post a Sad Story.

Image The other morning, youngest Son and I spent half an hour protecting a Magpie from being attacked. It wasn't a baby but it can be 'that time of year' when families squabble.

Image

Image As you can see, we were a little late from protecting the Magpie from being injured.

Image We were also joined by an Aussie Morning Walker who helped stand over the bird and told the story below.
