Even by Warren Goodwin's standards, this was special.
Of course we've seen him score hundreds before - plenty of them - for club and county. Most notably 168* for Cheshire at Filkins Lane v Wales MC in 2016 and 132* in a T20 Final a year earlier.
221 runs, 116 balls, 144 minutes, 21 x 4s, 16 x 6s.
Chester piled on the runs against Moseley in the first round of the National, delayed from a couple of weeks ago.
421-4 included 63* from Harry Killoran, 45 from Alex Money and 40 from Rick Moore. The rules don't allow you to declare in the 40 over a side competition - not that Chester would have anyway with the weather set fair.
Over 10 an over for 40 overs.
Credit to Moseley who had transport problems and arrived at the ground late. They kept going and then put up a decent fist of it with the bat. Haaris Syed impressed with 60*as Killoran (2-42) and Jack Williams (2-39) had the best bowling figures.
But this day was all about Goodwin. A masterful innings.
Next for Chester is a trip to the Midlands to play Knowle & Dorridge on Sunday 29 May. We're planning to run a coach for that one - details to follow.
