Hearts and Hibs to get full Edinburgh derby away allocations as city rivals honour existing arrangements

There will be a full Hibs away end allocation for this month’s Edinburgh derby.


Hearts have announced that just 500 tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 9am to home fans.


And Edinburgh Live Sport can confirm the reason for the limited availability is because the two clubs have agreed to stick to the original agreements and give each other the full traditional end.


The arrangement will see Hearts allocated the full South Stand at easter Road for the New year derby in January.

Jack Ross takes his team across the capital on 12 September for what is a top of the table Premiership clash at Tynecastle.


And the famous atmosphere is set to be cranked up with 3,600 Hibees supporting their side from the Roseburn end of the ground.

3,800 jambos will be in full voice in Leith for the return fixture as the capital clash returns after Robbie Neilson’s side’s season-long stint in the Championship.

The pair last faced off on league business in March 2020 with Hearts running out 3-1 winners.


Last year was completely devoid of Edinburgh derbies though after the two went head-to-head at Hampden in the delayed 2020 Scottish Cup semi-final.

The men in maroon were again victorious, winning 2-1 after extra-time.


There had been fears that away supports could be reduced due to continuing Covid restrictions around red zones within stadiums.

Celtic weren’t allocated any tickets for Sunday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox.

It’s understood that the Parkhead club couldn't guarantee an away allocation for their home fixture against their rivals, so none was given for the weekend encounter.
