WELWYN Garden FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Max Mitchell as their new club manager, with immediate effect.
Mitchell, 32, will be assisted by former Hertford Town goalscoring legend Tommy Wade, who will be his assistant manager, while WGC FC’s long serving Head Coach Steve Rolfe – who has served under three previous club managers – remains in post.
Mitchell joined WGC FC in January and has played occasionally in the latter part of the 2022-21 season, as well as helping with coaching throughout the club.
He has previously managed Walthamstow FC of the Essex Senior League to success, where he was also Director of Football and has managerial experience with both Southern League Hertford Town and St Margaretsbury, also of the Essex Senior League.
WGC FC chairman Ray Fiveash said: “ Max is a young, progressive manager, whose ambitions match that of our own.
“He is popular with all at our club – players, staff and committee alike – who are very much hoping that the appointment is a successful one. Certainly his appointment has been very well received.’’
