Evidence Based Practices for Severe Behaviors

This workshop will help participants choose and implement interventions proven to be effective for students experiencing severe behaviors. This training will discuss multiple strategies for behavior change, including antecedent interventions (changes to the environment), teaching replacement behaviors, and altering consequences. Participants will gain knowledge in how to match interventions to the four functions driving behavior (sensory, escape, attention and tangible). This workshop is designed for special education teachers, regular education teachers, paras, counselors, administrators and/or any team member working with students with challenging behaviors. Registration will begin at 8:30. Lunch and parking are included.
