Transition Academy: Prepping Students for Life
How do I prepare my student(s) to transition to the next phase of life? Participants will learn to use valuable resources to support students in the college or career readiness planning process for their future. The Transition Academy is designed to help educators plan for college and career readiness and positive postsecondary outcomes for students with an lEP. The components to be addressed during the academy are lndicator 13, the transition compliance portion of the student's lEP, how to plan for post-secondary outcomes and the framework and practice of how to include self-determination strategies and skills during instruction. Specific components provided in greater detail will be Transition Assessments and Services and to teach students to participate in the planning process of their future. The cost is $70 and includes parking and lunch for BOTH days. Training will begin promptly at 9:00. Working lunch will be served around 11:30 or 12:00 and you will be done by 3:00 P.M. Both days will be at MSU campus in Hill Hall, room 402. Directions and parking passes will be emailed before the workshop.
