Warhawk senior linebacker Ryan Liszka (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy), who was named First Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association earlier this week, has added second team recognition from the Associated Press Thursday. Liszka, now a multi-time All-American, received fourth-team recognition from d3football.com in 2021.

Liszka was an integral piece of the best defense in the league and one of the best in the nation this season. The Warhawks allowed the fewest yards per game in the conference, 287.0 per outing. For the season, UWW's defense allowed 66.7 rushing yards per game, ranked 11th nationally. Liszka led UW-Whitewater in tackles with 72.0, ranked seventh in the league. His 9.5 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks are both top ten marks in the WIAC this season. In 10 games played, Liszka registered double figure tackles five times including a season high 12 against Aurora.
