FORMER NO. 1 PLAYER IN ARKANSAS SIGNS WITH TIGERS

ARKADELPHIA – Former No. 1 rated high school player in the state of Arkansas Terran Williams has joined the Ouachita men's basketball team.

Williams comes to Ouachita from NCAA Division I Louisiana Tech, now giving the Tigers three D1 transfers for the 2023-24 roster.

The Marianna native played in 46 games over the past two seasons at Louisiana Tech, averaging just under 10 minutes per game and racking up a combined total of 137 points. The 6-5 guard scored a career-high 20 points against Alabama A&M and racked up a career-high seven rebounds against Middle Tennessee State.

Williams came out of Marianna Lee High School as the No. 1 rated player by Arkansas Basketball Recruiting and a three-star prospect per Rivals. As a senior, he led his team in a 22-game winning streak that included district, regional, and state championships at the 2A level. It was the program's first state championship in 38 years. He was named the state finals MVP after scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the championship game.

In his senior season at Lee, Williams averaged 18.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and four assists per game in route to being named to the all-state, all-region, and all-conference teams. He also earned all-state and all-conference honors as a junior after averaging 17.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and four assists per game.

"We're excited that Terran is joining us at Ouachita," said Ouachita Head Coach Dennis Nutt. "He brings an element of toughness and a winning mindset to our program. He has great experience and versatility that will be a great addition to the class. We're excited to get him back home to the state of Arkansas!"
