AAPA 2027 Call for Presentations & Call for Graders
Are you a clinical expert with a passion for sharing knowledge? PAs want to learn from you at AAPA 2027, May 21-25 in Phoenix, Ariz.! Complete the Call for Presentations application to be considered for CME faculty and enhance your CV, present to a national audience, and gain exposure within the larger PA community. You can also impact conference content by volunteering to be a grader.
CME Conference Grader
This quick volunteer opportunity allows you to provide input into the conference CME session selection process. You will work independently to review all of the proposals provided to you within a couple of weeks during August. Participating offers an opportunity to contribute your expertise to the profession, support its advancement, and strengthen your curriculum vitae.
The deadline to apply is July 31, 2026.
CME Session Presenter
AAPA Conference offers a variety of presentation options that appeal to different audience learning styles and showcase a variety of clinical and professional content. CME session content can be for individuals needing a review of basic knowledge all the way to topics for mid-to-advanced with a focus that is significantly beyond baseline clinical competency and foundational knowledge. AAPA would like to include more 30-minutes CME sessions to support a diverse and engaging conference program, so consider if your presentation content can be conveyed in 30-minutes.
30-Minute Lectures
Presentations are 20–25 minutes long, with the last 5–10 minutes reserved for questions and answers. Audiences range in size from 250–2,500 participants. Limited to 2 faculty members.
60-Minute Lectures
Presentations are 45–50 minutes long, with the last 10–15 minutes reserved for questions and answers. Audiences range in size from 250–2,500 participants. Limited to 4 faculty members.
Hands-On Clinical Skills Workshops
Clinical workshops have didactic and hands-on application components and last 2–4 hours. Audiences range in size from 20–50 participants.
Small Interactive Sessions
These case-based, intimate sessions take an in-depth look at medical cases and include interaction among attendees throughout the session. Sessions last 1–2 hours and are limited to 50 participants. Limited to 4 faculty members.
New to the Stage Presentations
Faculty with limited national speaking experience can apply to be matched with a seasoned speaker to guide them through the experience. Presentations are 20–25 minutes long, with the last 5–10 minutes reserved for questions and answers. Participants will receive mentor feedback. Audiences range in size from 250–500 participants. Limited to 1 faculty member.
Requirements, Submissions, and Selection Process
Requirements
You are invited to apply to be CME faculty if you previously presented a clinical topic at your state PA chapter or specialty organization meeting, or one of AAPA’s specialty conferences. Less experienced speakers are encouraged to present locally before applying for the national conference.
All PA faculty must be current members of AAPA at the time of participation and must register for AAPA 2027.
CME is scheduled for each day of AAPA 2027 (May 21-25). Please do not submit a proposal unless you can present on any day of the conference.
Submissions and Selection Process
All submissions must be completed online by July 31, 2026. High-caliber submissions that follow instructions and are well-thought-out and organized generally rank higher. We encourage applicants with speaking experience to highlight it in their submission. Sales pitches for products or services disguised as CME proposals will be eliminated.
To ensure a balanced conference CME program, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by a committee of your peers. The evaluation process is competitive; about one third of the submissions are accepted. If you are interested in reviewing the submissions, you can apply online to be a CME Conference Grader by July 31, 2026.
If your presentation is selected, you will be informed by late fall of 2026.
Compensation and CME Credit
Faculty compensation varies based on session type, length, number of faculty, and met deadlines. Discounted registration is included as part of the compensation. Faculty are responsible for securing and funding their conference registration, travel, housing, and additional expenses.
Conference faculty are eligible to earn AAPA Category 1 CME credit for presenting their session.
Presentation Tips & Ideas
Design a session based on your experience and expertise that enhances the learners’ knowledge and encourages retention of the content long after the conference.
Consider including one of these elements which can be adapted to almost any clinical specialty:
- Illustrate innovative ideas and techniques in patient care.
- Introduce successful methods for achieving patient wellness.
- Offer interactive case studies in your area of expertise.
- Share clinical pearls and best practices from your specialty.
- Discuss the latest cutting-edge procedures or treatments.
- Provide a review for individuals preparing for certification or recertification.
