Animal Welfare Anonymous Tip
Please use this form to share any information about potential animal cruelty or animals that need help.  Your tip can help us raise awareness and could lead to an animal being helped. Your information will remain anonymous.

If you have strong evidence of animal cruelty, we encourage you to report it directly to the NSPCA, as they have the authority to investigate and take action.

To report directly to the NSPCA:
  • You can report cases of animal cruelty or severe neglect directly to NSPCA in writing, via email to [email protected].
  • Provide as much detail & evidence as possible (e.g. photos and videos, physical address).
  • Remember to include your personal contact details as well so they can follow up for further information if needed.
The NSPCA will assess it and send it to the relevant units or organisations to assist. The identity of informants is kept strictly confidential.

Do you understand the following?
Please note that no organisation can act on speculation alone. Rustplaas can only monitor the situation and, if we find proof of abuse, we can contact the right authorities or refer you to them. We respect the NSPCA’s role and we follow the law. The NSPCA may not be able to address every report right away, but they prioritise based on severity - for severe cases please report to them directly and immediately. Rustplaas can only provide helpful information but cannot issue warrants or remove animals from abusive situations. If we believe the issue is due to ignorance, we’ll first try to educate the pet owners. If that doesn’t work or abuse is proven, a report needs to be sent to the NSPCA.
