Step by Step Instructions: Texas Education Freedom Accounts Parent Application
Step 1: Create your account
Create an account with an email you can access all year and Sign Up
Step 2: Start Application
Select Start Application. Please note, you may save and return at any time.
Step 3: Enter parent or guardian information
Please remember to double check all information input to ensure a smooth application review.
Please double check your drivers license or state ID number to confirm it was added correctly. During this step it is critical your ID Expiration Date is correct, please ensure you confirm all the details regarding your drivers license carefully.
If you are active duty military, you will be required to upload your military orders.
Step 4: Add student information
Please add all children who will be participating in the TEFA program onto one account. Once you have added all children, confirm the information is correct.
If applicable, please provide additional information for children entering pre-K or children who receives special education services. Please review the following article for any additional information regarding child disability: I Have a Child with a Disability: What Do I Need to Do?
Indicate where your child's education method and provide required school history details. Please note: Homeschool/Other can only be changed to private school if you edit and resubmit before deadline.
Step 5: Review and submit the application
Prior to submitting your information you will be required to sign attestations and review your application. Please ensure at this time all TEFA participating children are added.
Once you have confirmed everything is correct, submit the application.
Step 6: Complete Verification Process
At this time you will be required to upload verification documents. Please be aware this is a crucial part of the application process, failure to submit the correct documentation may result in ineligibility.
Please note you may be required to add additional documentation for your students if parent verification is not successful.
Once documentation has been uploaded the following screen will appear and you will be rerouted to your parent dashboard.
Step 7: Select School
At this time you may select a school of your choice. Please await final approvals to ensure next steps for your child. It is important to remember, the status of "Eligible" does not guarantee final approval or funding for the TEFA program.
